VileSlay Posted November 18, 2002 welcome to doomworld. I usually just make batch files for zdoom, but I only do that for zdoom specific wads. anything else I use legacy which comes with its own launcher. I never tried to load from the console, but if there is a way it should be in the documentation. 0 Share this post Link to post
DoomRocker Posted November 18, 2002 can u give me a link to load maps with for XP? 0 Share this post Link to post
Penguin Posted November 18, 2002 i think you can load them by typing map "MAPxx" in the console, mapxx being your map name ex: map map01 0 Share this post Link to post
DooMBoy Posted November 18, 2002 Or for Doom 1: map exmx (where x is the Episode and level number). BTW, welcome to Doomworld :) 0 Share this post Link to post
Jello Posted November 18, 2002 I think you can just drag/drop a .wad file onto the zdoom icon and it'll load it up too. Then once ingame you can go into the console and type "IDCLEV xx" where xx is the map name. So map 12 would be "IDCLEV 12" (without the quotes of course). 0 Share this post Link to post
Lord FlatHead Posted November 18, 2002 Welcome to Doomworld. One thing : watch your spelling. Faulty spelling makes you look like a ten year-old. And if you are a ten year-old, well, erm, more power to ya ! 0 Share this post Link to post

For any other one, go into the Command Prompt(Dos). The type zdoom -file insertwadnamehere.wad with the respective doom you want to use. If you have all your Iwads in the same directory, you'll need tp specify by adding -iwad doom2.wad or -iwad tnt.wad or -iwad doom.wad etc, etc. If the map falls on a level that is not Map 01, or e1m1, e2m1, e3m1, e4m1, as was stated, you'll have to use Idclev to get to it. map 12 in Doom II would be "IDCLEV12" Level 3 in Episode 2 of Doom would be "IDCLEV32" 0 Share this post Link to post

Nick Perrin Posted November 21, 2002 just create a shortcut to Zdoom, right-click and got to properties and in the "target" line add -file wadname.wad It's that easy. Works for about every sourceport including even doom2.exe(for some stuff). 0 Share this post Link to post
