Coopersville Posted November 18, 2002 Can't sleep, meteorites will crush me! Well I get to watch a meteor shower for the first, and probably last time of my life, the next one's scheduled for 2100. This thing's going to happen world wide, right? 0 Share this post Link to post
Grazza Posted November 18, 2002 Yeah, but aren't they merely saying that this is liable to be the most spectacular one until 2099, not that there won't be any others before then? 0 Share this post Link to post
IMJack Posted November 18, 2002 This is an annual meteor shower. Earth passes through the same trail of junk every orbit. This year's is just supposed to be extra cool. 0 Share this post Link to post
VileSlay Posted November 18, 2002 after this year the temple-tuttle comets orbit is going to change slightly and there wont be any showers till between 2098 and 2131. so see it while your able. 0 Share this post Link to post
Ichor Posted November 19, 2002 Too bad the full moon will obscure a lot of those meteors, but around here, the moon will be so close to the horizon (it will be near dawn when it happens here) that there won't as much of a problem watching them. 0 Share this post Link to post
DooMBoy Posted November 19, 2002 I'll see if I can't stay up and watch this meteor shower. I'm not waiting another year. 0 Share this post Link to post
Ichor Posted November 19, 2002 These won't be the only meteor shower of the year. Although, they are supposed the be the best of them. 0 Share this post Link to post
