What if there was a mod that made the player able to parry?

I was wondering about how it would affect the game if some Doom weapon mods gave the melee weapon an SF3-esque parry? Like the initial parry is 1 or 2 ticks and the recovery is long, but if any attack hits you during that initial parry frame, about 75 to 90% of the attack's damage is reduced.

Oh, like a fighting game...

 

...I assumed you meant parrying like in Soulsborne games, and I dreamed of parrying a Cyberdemon to death.

The sword allows you to take out and defend against rockets? Not exactly what I imagined but still very cool.
I seriously imagined Doomguy catching the rockets, and throwing them back.

1 or 2 tics is about 50ms, which very well could be less than your ping time against a lot of servers. I imagine that such a concept would be basically unworkable in C/S Doom ports.
