BigBoy91 Posted May 21, 2020 (edited) Reduce the amount of cycles in DOSBox by pressing CTRL+F11 until you've reached your desired performance level. Edited May 21, 2020 by lazy91geek 0 Share this post Link to post
P41R47 Posted May 21, 2020 Things like that happens all the time, it happened to me, too. Chocolate-Doom is vanilla doom but for modern PC, so you don't need Dosbox to play it. why don't give it a try? https://www.chocolate-doom.org/wiki/index.php/Downloads 2 Share this post Link to post

I use Z-Doom on a laptop and I have things like particles and decals turned off, and the secret revealed message disabled and a few other settings to make it closer to the original experience. 1 Share this post Link to post
wallabra Posted May 21, 2020 PRBoom+ is also good. It isn't 100% true to the constraints of vanilla, but it still feels very much like the vanilla game. It has higher resolution support and proper mouse acceleration, among other things. (Though much of it can be tweaked in compatibility settings.) It's the kind of source port that's typically known as limit-removing. 1 Share this post Link to post
