Postal 2 weird glitch

Recommended Posts

Basically i've been trying to ask around about this glitch everywhere and nobody has helped me on it

On saturday in postal 2, When i load an autosave or a save on saturday, my view distance settings are being ignored. even when i put it to the lowest settings.

For example. this screenshot shows a save from friday, and my settings work as intended.

Is there a possible duplicate of the config file in the Postal 2 folder or in the Program Files folder?

Its called Postal2.ini. It should be found in Steam\steamapps\common\POSTAL2Complete\System\Postal2.ini.

  • Copy the postal2.ini to a safe location and rename it postal2bak.ini.
  • Then, delete the postal2.ini in the screen shot and start the game and set the view distance. It should create a new .ini.
  • Close the game and then restart it to see if the settings are kept.

Was a new ini made?

Is reinstallation an option?

If you copy the save files to a secure location beforehand then no. Assuming you do a full reinstall.

It could be that it's doing something entirely different, since the original game was only Monday-Friday, and Saturday/Sunday are part of Apocalypse Weekend.

It may be down to the maps for AW having different settings than the main maps, and that's something you would have to muck around in the editor to figure out.

Of course, that will also mean that there'd be map version mismatches online if you tried, say, the co-op multiplayer mod, but just back up the maps before you edit them just in case.
