RemoveUwU Posted June 2, 2020 Oh hey there lads. So, some weeks ago I was just chilling and thought "Hey, I should make a techbase Doom map, there's already plenty of them so I can just make another one". And so I did Now this map is kinda small, and really closed, you might wanna use FloppyDisk Midi or Now that's what I call MIDI, unless you really like D_Runnin So, what's with the name? Spoiler As all of you might know, the use of "Le" in memes comes from what we students call the Belle Epoque, where rage comics and funny 4-6 panel mini comics would compose a major part of our humour. Funnily enough, it wasn't until later that I found out "Le" is a french article. So, what's the matter, what has anything of this to do with the name of the map? Well, despite me not being a furry, I actually found myself enjoying Beastars, not only it's CGI is used perfectly and looks nice with the anthropomorphic designs, but its musical direction is really fricking nice, I really liked all of its endings, but the one I liked the most was Sleeping Instinct, but there's one named "Le Zoo" and I just thought it was a funny name. Alright, going back to talking about the map itself, I personally tested it on PrBoom+, using it's sublime, really comfy software renderer, and I asked a friend to test it in GZDoom. Now, I know GZDoom goes easier when talking about untagged doors, lifts and the like, so I wanted to test if there was anything wrong, and no, apparently there's nothing wrong so we're good to go. This map doesn't require you to jump or crouch, you can use freelook if you want as it doesn't affect the overall gameplay. Also it was planned and made with vanilla monsters in mind, so yeah, keep that in mind if you wanna play with mods. Alright then, here are some screenshots. Spoiler The starting area, be sure to check the door you entered by. An underground area, classic. Be careful when facing some of the biggies there. Also uhhh, not really a story or something, just the classic Doom thing, you already know, demons invade, you clean, bla bla bla, but since this is a military tech base I wanted to create something that might give that away, so here's this They're supposed to be uhhh, things that automatically detect your range and give you access to stuff, a lot of them activate secrets, be sure to step in! Here's the download btw: LeBaseuwu.zip Hope you have fun, and I really really hope you like Imps as much as I do I know the map is not well balanced, just you try to have fun alright pal? 4 Share this post Link to post

DynamiteKaitorn Posted June 3, 2020 A very well made, quite fun map with lots of twists and turns. I do like this map! :D The difficulty is fairly well executed with not really any harsh spots, even the final room is easy to cheese. <3 Also this map has 2 plasma rifles in it at least. *PLASMA RIFLE FIRING SOUND INTENSIFIES* Some of the designs seem a little odd like one of the doors has computer panels on its flooring and some textures don't blend too well together. 1 Share this post Link to post
Biodegradable Posted June 3, 2020 Just finished it. This is an incredible map, mate. So much content jam-packed into a claustrophobic environment filled with traps and high-octane violence, I love it. I managed to find at least 7 secrets (including 3 plasma rifles NOICE) and was surprised to see that there were still, somehow, about 100 monsters left I didn't manage to find and kill?!?! Seriously, this is one of the best single maps I've played yet. So much fun! 0 Share this post Link to post

I'm still kind of new to mapping so I'm really grateful you enjoyed this map I was using computer panel textures to remind myself which parts weren't done yet 10 hours ago, Biodegradable said: somehow, about 100 monsters left I didn't manage to find and kill?!?!
