Classic Doom/Doom 64 have one (same across all games), Quake 2, Doom 3, Rage, Doom 2016, Rage 2, and Eternal all have one.

Quake 2's BFG10k doesn't blow up in your face like Doom 3's, so my theory is that it is, as the name implies, a new version that worked out the 9k series kinks (if they existed in the same universe ofc).

Doom 4's is probably just an alternate reality where the BFG is a screen-clearer straight out of a shmup game, but in hand held-ish flavor

The one in Rage 2 is more of an Easter Egg, right? Or a pre-order bonus. I know I never got it on my play through... Not that you need it, with how powerful you end up by about halfway through the game.

I get to 10 from official games, and to 14 with some bonus non-id, non-game or non-official versions.

1. Classic Doom's BFG9000, seen in Doom, Doom II, Final Doom, but also in the RPG spinoffs
2. Doom 64's BFG9000 -- basically the classic version mechanically, but it has a different look, so I count it separately just because I can
3. Quake II's BFG 10K
4. Quake III Arena's BFG 10K
5. Doom 3's BFG 9000
6. Rage's Authority Pulse Cannon fires BFG rounds, so I'll count it too, you can't stop me
7. Doom 2016's BFG 9000
8. Rage 2's BFG 9000 (collector's edition goodie)
9. Doom Eternal BFG 9000 (largely the same as 2016's)
10. Doom Eternal BFG 10000 (non-portable giant cannon, powered by a BFG 9000)

It certainly has some cosmetic and gameplay similarities, but it's not connected by name or by in-game lore, so I'm not gonna count it.
