Biodegradable Posted June 9, 2020 (edited) I've only been playing community WADs for about two weeks or so, but so far I'd have to say that UAC Ultra and Deathless are my absolute favourites right now with some honourable mentions to Pathogen and Le Base. DuckReconMajor Posted June 9, 2020 Aside from the great wads already mentioned: Sunder Cyberdreams Multiplayer ones I played on ZDaemon back in the day: Invasion UAC DBZone 5 Share this post Link to post
Isquilt Posted June 9, 2020 One megaWAD that has stuck with me just due to its incredibly consistent theme is Going Down (gd.wad). It gets pretty crazy near the end, both atmospherically and in monster count, but I think it's worth it. 6 Share this post Link to post

Doomkid Posted June 9, 2020 All the stuff I played in my formative years: Memento Mori, Area51, DoomCity, Hellrun for Doom2, and silly mods like Simpsons Doom, South Park Doom and Dragonball Z Doom. There's so much content nowadays that I honestly get a lot of it mixed up - I recently spent like 10 minutes talking to someone about Sunlust but I kept calling it Sunder.. and that's not the first or even second time something like that has happened. Not to say they aren't memorable, but my ability to remember specific individual wads as their own thing, separate from the other wads I happened to play in the same timeframe, just gets shittier and shittier the more of them I play.. In terms of DM, Dwango has literally stuck with me in that 50% of the deathmatches I've had since I started DMing have been on Dwango wads. It's just got this lasting power despite not even being that good. I guarantee within the next few weeks when I'm looking for matches, at least one of them will be on Dwango, whether or not it's me who picks it. 7 Share this post Link to post

Yeah this happens to me too, probably most of us I'd think. I'll remember a map sometimes and not remember if it's from Scythe 2 or Sunlust or Alien Vendetta, crazy different wads from different eras I'll still get maps mixed up. Sometimes I think about all the thousands of wads I'll probably never play but I figure at some point I'd forget more than I'd remember. 2 Share this post Link to post

RonnieJamesDiner Posted June 9, 2020 Mods specifically, I continuously find myself going back to Noiser's D4V and Tango's Supercharge. Both are so much fun, especially in classic megawads I've played too many times. 1 Share this post Link to post

Steve D Posted June 9, 2020 I started back in the '90s, so these are perennial faves; Doomsday of the UAC Fava Beans Osiris Dawn of the Dead For modern works; Back To Saturn X E1 Double Impact ConC.E.R.Ned Thy Flesh Turned Into a Draft Excluder TNT:Revilution There's some great stuff I haven't finished playing that would certainly go on this list, so one of these days I'll have to sit down and chew through a bunch of megawads. 2 Share this post Link to post
Phobus Posted June 9, 2020 From back when I first started playing Doom WADs, it'll be YAKWORLD. Sure, UAC_DEAD, Doom in Tibet, Hoover Dam and other early-mid 90s staples were memorable, but YAKWORLD was just a little crazy, too. From my second, and proper, exposure to the Doom community, NJTRAIN and ZDCMP#1 are definitely the main experiences I won't forget, although the ZDoom 1.22 demo level also has a place in my heart. 3 Share this post Link to post

P41R47 Posted June 10, 2020 This are my favs. Never get tired of playing them, and i replay them a lot when i don't know what else to play: Hell2Pay Perdition's Gate Revolution! Demonfear Vile Flesh Then some i constantly replay because i really like them: TNT: Evilution TNT: Revilution Eternal Doom Icarus: Alien Vanguard Fragport Final Doom: Return of the Evil God HACX Doom 404 Kama Sutra Mars War Osiris Suspended in Dusk A.L.T. Noisy Diarrhea Urania Going Down I prefer wads with enphasis on inmersion over gameplay, but when i found some with a good mix of both, they are totally welcomed ;) I would like to see more maps in the line of Mars War, without following the standars or gameplay restrictions, just fun and creative maps with a lot of concept behind them. Team TNT projects were masters of that, so i love megawads that followed that trend. 3 Share this post Link to post
