How do you make custom doom midi files play?

Question

To clear up MP3 won't work, nor will .mid, I use garage band. Please help me im working on a map pack called

M_DOOM.png.9a8dfd1f697815a63daae7572ab93df7.png

but a good map pack is nothing with out music and I can just not get it to work, the midi files turn into folders that can't be selected in slade 3 and I've watched so many damn tutorials and none of them work, if I drag in a midi file from another wad it works totally fine, it looks like I don't have something that can completely convert to midi or I need some add on for slade 3 any help?

Which bit version of Slade3 do you use, x86 or x64?

For the latest versions of Slade3 (see Notes) x64 does not play back midi files with Fluidsynth,

you have to set up Slade3 with Timidity.

However, if you absolutely want to use Fluidsynth for midis then run the x86 version.

You can find a download for TIMIDITY at the ZDoom main page - Downloads.

Not being able to check out your map I have to make some assumptions.

The map namespace should look something like this

and nothing else may be inserted into that namespace.

In your map there are some lumps missing, SEGS, REJECT, BLOCKMAP and BEHAVIOR if it is a map for GZDoom. And THINGS 0 indicates that there is no Player1 start.

I made a simple example map with a midi and mp3 file for you to try with GZDoom..

Change the music in MAPINFO.
