You got any playable WADs you could share with us, mate?

He says that it's a work in progress.

Yes, but he also said these are screenshots from VARIOUS projects, fam. I was wondering if there was anything in his pipeline that has reached a Beta stage that folks can playtest for him.

Oh, I get it. Not exactly sure if it is okay to post a topic before it's reached beta.

Ofc it is. This is how most people got projects going on here before the discord days.

Just one, my only map with an exit and it's a completely vanilla Ultimate DOOM map. It's not much older than that collosseum shot, so it's not the worst, but I wasn't too happy with the gameplay. Want to try it? Lol. These photos probably aren't enough, they're screencapped from CrispyDoom without freelook. I even made the MIDI!
There's stuff to look at though, I couldn't fit in as much detail as I wanted due to visplane overflows, but I'm probably unaware of different ways this can be optimized to squeeze out more details. Feedback for this map was only decent, and I agree with most criticisms I received, primarily the oddly steep ramp up in difficulty within the map itself. lol.
E1M1, works with Chocolate, Crispy, and probably more...

OTEX texture usage = bliss.

And that level looks surprisingly good for a first timer map.

I am impressed. Potential gained, OP! Welcome to Doomworld!

Because it is compatible, it does not open the track.

What do you mean? The MIDI isn't playing on your end?

The course does not start, doom enters 2 levels.

It's E1M1 Ultimate DOOM, Doom1. It will work with anything from Chocolate Doom to GZDOOM I've tested it on almost every single source port.

Wow, these levels look fantastic!! Certainly puts my current released levels and first levels to shame! How did you learn so fast? Did you have any previous experience with making levels, be it for other games before?

Wow man, thanks a lot! I didn't have any previous experience. I became interested in mapping after Sigil was released, and I hadn't played many fan-made wads before. I loved the abstract designs and I started trying to make my own similar types of maps. I thought I was doing things no one else had done until I started browsing Doomworld and saw some of these new amazing projects. I really got put in my place and buckled down. Started studying different authors, started learning the workflow of GZDB, and trying to get better at the game in general. I finally started joining some Discord channels and trying to get feedback and taking it all very seriously, making some good connections with a couple of very experienced authors who pretty much pointed me in the right direction the last few months,  where learning has accelerated since I've at least learned most of the advanced techniques.

I honestly just take a lot of visual inspiration from what I see and try to imitate what I see for my own maps. (And some luck is involved.)

Some of these screenies look sick as, and ooze with aesthetic talent. Please, keep on mapping and welcome to the community!
