HQDefault Posted August 5, 2020 Heads up that in the future it's probably better to edit the original post and bump it with a comment saying you updated it. 0 Share this post Link to post

HQDefault Posted August 5, 2020 Overall I think this was a pretty solid remake, although there are a few minor gripes I have that I think are worth pointing out. Your water here is a bit too clear. It's not really your fault so much, because frankly Doom's default water texture (and just its selection of Blues in general) is rather abysmal. I would probably go for something a little less transparent, maybe 80% opacity, instead of what I think is 40%. That and maybe just hunt down a different water texture that splits off of Doom's color palette. These poles are really annoying, especially in a thin hallway like this. You're gonna want to avoid details obstructing the player. This is a really minor nitpick, but indenting this would probably be a good idea. Having indents in walls is just generally helpful and gives areas a more naturalistic feel. (I noticed a lot of your doors could do with this as well.) Overall, I think you did a solid job, and it's nice to see that you're willing to make some iterative improvements. I like this room in particular. Some good Doom 64 vibes. 2 Share this post Link to post

Yeah, I was thinking about this water but then decided not to bring it up. Also, looks like you never played ObAddon-generated maps. Beams, as they call it, are casually in positions like this - even if you switch it to "None" in Options. 0 Share this post Link to post
