In all fairness, I have it off too. But I know that plenty of people don't like or want a pixelated look, and so would prefer the filtering.

 

So really, it's just down to taste, and people who don't know they can turn it off haven't spent enough time in the menus.

I recently got a new laptop that was finally capable of playing gzdoom
