Higo Doragon Posted August 19, 2020 and i don't just mean just western dragons... wyverns, lindworms, japanese dragons, anthropomorphic ones... if is a "dragon" it counts! ah,kobolds too! i very curious for these creatures and i want play any doom mod or retro FPS that has then, but is really hard to find any... in doom mods i just know "the guncaster", the protagonist is a anthropomorphic dragon and the shopkeeper is a "dragon possessed dragon statue"! the mod is really fun and well made! in retro shooters i know hexen's undead wyvern "i did't played enough to see one ingame" and quake's expansion pack dragon boss... i feel that other retro shooters/ mods have dragons too... but i could't find any! do you guys know any other retro FPS or doom mod that has dragons? or how to find it? i would love to hear your suggestions! ^.=.^ 0 Share this post Link to post
Jayextee Posted August 19, 2020 Heretic has Weredragons, if that counts? 3 Share this post Link to post
Kloki38 Posted August 19, 2020 (edited) The only other retro fps with dragons I am aware of is Witchaven. Besides that there is also a first person dragon riding simulator called "Dragonstrike" from 1990. 3 Share this post Link to post
Hellektronic Posted August 19, 2020 The second Quake mission pack has a dragon boss, Dissolution of Eternity... worth mentioning. It's not easy to install because it was made for DOS, but it has all the files you'd need on the disk, just copy/paste em. 3 Share this post Link to post
Grazza Posted August 20, 2020 Skyewood has a dragon (albeit just a reskinned cyberdemon). 2 Share this post Link to post
xdarkmasterx Posted August 20, 2020 (edited) Boss in Dark Messiah of Might and Magic has a dragon (2006 is retro enough?) 1 Share this post Link to post
Avoozl Posted August 20, 2020 Hexen and Deathkings has a Wyvern but that's more like a sub species and only encountered a few times. 2 Share this post Link to post

Also it comes with both mission packs on GOG so that's an easy way to access them today. 2 Share this post Link to post
Tetzlaff Posted August 20, 2020 Not exactly a Retro FPS, but Legendary (2008) features mythological monsters, including the Fire Drake. 1 Share this post Link to post
Swalzi Posted August 20, 2020 Star Wars: Dark Forces have Kell Dragons that appear in one level. I think the sprite used is pretty impressive for a Doom-style game. The sprite designer(s) really gave the dragon visual depth to how big it is from all eight angles. Only thing missing is the enemies in Dark Force don't have attack frames from different angles. They only have attack frames from the front, I believe. 1 Share this post Link to post
kristus Posted August 21, 2020 I guess the final boss in The fortress of Dr radiaki is a dragon. 1 Share this post Link to post

If you have the Quake 1 release from GOG, all you need are the ID1 and ROGUE folders. Copy both the ID1 and ROGUE folders into the quakespasm sourceport, then open Quakespasm. (For example: c:\quakespasm\ROGUE) Bring down the console by pressing the ` button, then type: game rogue and press enter. http://quakespasm.sourceforge.net/download.htm For Dosbox, you need to imgmount the bin / cue pair for that game (for example: gamed.gog / gamed.cue) and install ROGUE into your already existing Quake folder (For example: c:\quake\ROGUE). Run the diss.bat file in your Quake folder. https://www.dosbox.com/wiki/IMGMOUNT#Note:_make_sure_to_use_CUE_and_not_BIN_for_Mixed_Mode_CDs Most people will take the sourceport route, since they won't have to deal with DOS. WowozuelaSpammer Posted August 25, 2020 Not an FPS, but a retro game, The Elder Scrolls Redguard has a dragon, although it's a lame enemy (just like the rest of the game :P) but it's still a dragon. This one's neither, but it has dragons, dragons, dragons: The Elders Scrolls V Skyrim, the entire plot revolves around you being a human/elf/beast with the dragon blood that has to stop an evil dragon that wants to eat the world, you prolly already played it, since everyone knows it, but i wanted to name it. Actually, iirc, i remember reading somewhere that dragons got pretty big on Greek mythology because during the Ancient Greece, they found "dragon bones", but turns out they were probably the rests of either a big lizard (commodo dragon type lizard) or a dinosaur, the more you know :P 1 Share this post Link to post
