Why are you using a 2013 GZDoom build and not the latest version?

I'm using UDB. The latest version?

The reason why Redneckerz is questioning your decision to use an outdated source port is, that this old version of GZDoom, 1.8.2, is not uptodate with the latest features. A good version of GZDoom to use would be version 4.4.2

GZDoom is the source port

UDB is the editor to build maps for that source port

You also have made a grave mistake by inserting MAPINFO and the adjoining separating markers into the MAPxx namespace.

That namespace is inviolate and can only contain these lumps at most:

Namespaces are meant for particular lumps only.

Oh, thats just me being lazy. I have the latest GzDoom source port but I dont use it

Then why are you bothering posting a cry for help.

Several names come to mind, and none of them complimentary.

The screenshot shows GZDoom 1.8 3 in a instance of UDB.

Try the latest GZDoom first before asking something like this. A comment like this is rather demotvational in trying to help you get the answer.

After all, you admit laziness. That can and will work both ways.

My guy calm down, I didn't think the source port was a big deal when it came to this stuff since everything else I've tried has worked perfectly with this version of GzDoom

I've updated it now. Okay?

Hmmm, thanks for the tips. Let me mess around a bit with it.

EDIT: It works now. Thanks, guys!

Rule of thumb: if testing maps throws a error, use the latest build instead.

1.8.2 is positively ancient. Even Zandronum has a more recent GZ basis.

The reason why Kappes responded the way he did is because you tried to fix this with all the info you could find online, and then admitted you didn't use the latest version and were lazy.

Because you were aware of the latest version, the irriation stems from being lazy and not connecting the dot to first try this out with 4.4.2 instead, when you found out that 1.8.3 bombs out.

Hope this helps.

Yes, that's true. But I stated that I didn't know that the version of GzDoom made a difference since, as stated also, everything else I've tried in the past works perfectly.

Just because it worked in the past does not mean it works today. If an update is available, try that first. This is not exclusive to GZDoom alone.

The latest GZDoom can be found here

The latest UDB can be found here

So not install in Program Files !!!!! Make a dedicated folder.

To change sourceports in UDB see Game Configurations (F6)
