The GOG release runs fine.If you prefer the Win95 version (which came with the original release in 1997), this runs fine under Wine. The new version was quiet lame and had technical problems right from the start.

Edit: I found some fixes for Carmageddon. PM me if you want to play it too.

Doom fans, I present to you: Eradicator!

Watched a bit of Gameplay, looks nice, will try it out.

To the Topic.

I haven't really played FPS for Years because they bored me to much.

It was Doom Eternal, Ion Fury and Hedon which brought me back into those Games and also to play Doom online.

Doom Eternal showed me what i like about those Games:

- No boring Rail Segments (Moorhuhn aka Crazy Chicken).

- No Levels that feel like you can only walk forward, give me Space to move.

- No Quick Time Events you have to repeat every Time you fail (hello Tomb Raider Reboot)

- Stories ok, but let me play more than 5 Minutes straight.

- No Whining, i can't stand it any longer, it's not a "deep Characterization" .

- Let me try out Things, don't take me all the time on the Hand

- Gameplay first.

I'm sure i am forgetting Stuff, but almost every Game that follows more classical Game Design is something i have more Fun playing it.

Right now playing through Dark Forces 2, what a great Game, and Quake 2 on the N64, it has short but good Levels, so you can play it here and there.

Duke Nukem, Goldeneye, Bioshock, Halo 1, and Pokémon Snap. Yes, Pokémon Snap is a rail shooter. Fight me.

I didn't really like Bioshock Infinite. Maybe it's because I was worse at shooters then (still pretty bad),but I kept getting killed by people I couldn't even see. It wasn't fun and turned me off of shooters for a while. Doom 2016 was what got me back into shooters and after I I finally beat Doom 1 and played through 2 and some of 3 before playing Eternal.

Battlefront, the first one. Played thousands of hours of it, literrally. Even made maps for it. I still like it better than the second one, even if the other have space battle cuz half of em aren't very cool to navigate and no first person in a ship. And everybody dies faster and heros and stuff... the first one was more immersive.
Arma 3, shitload of Arma 3.
Prodeus because of course.
Medal of Honor Allied Assault
Battlefield 1942 from times to times.

Dark Forces
The first CoD, played some World at War but it was bad.
Halos. The first one stays my favorite. I still have to play 3 and 4.

Daggerfall counts ? Beacuse I played lots of it.... help me

I know about that. Just asked because what you wrote means you are either a tester or a dev on the game :P.

I just want a whole list of games in the genre that seem interesting to me.

Oh dang, lots I could mention here. I love Doom in all of its incarnations, whether it be classic, Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal, Doom 64, and yes, even Doom 3. I'd like to play the RPGs sometime if possible. But as for other FPS games, hoo boy... I can't order this, this is just going to come to mind as I think about them.

Wolfenstein 3D

Return to Castle Wolfenstein

Wolfenstein 2009 (underrated IMO)

Wolfenstein: The New Order, The Old Blood, and The New Colossus

Quake

Blood

Rise of the Triad

Painkiller

Heretic

Star Wars: Dark Forces, Jedi Knight, and Jedi Outcast

Outlaws

Half-Life (and now Black Mesa)

Halo 1, 2, and 3 (but especially 3)

FEAR

Turok 2: The Seeds of Evil

Shadow Warrior 2013

Singularity

DUSK

Amid Evil

Serious Sam: The First Encounter and The Second Encounter

Titanfall 2

Goldeneye 007 (nostalgia pick lol)

Perfect Dark

Marathon 1 and 2

Quake III Arena

Unreal Tournament

Team Fortress 2

Killing Floor 1 and 2

Call of Juarez: Gunslinger

Prey 2006

Hard Reset

Devil Daggers

Clive Barker's Undying

No One Lives Forever 1 and 2 (especially 2)

Powerslave

Ziggurat

Immortal Redneck

Now several games in 3D that I think are genre hybrids and/or bending the definition of an FPS but still very worthy of play:

Strife

Deus Ex and DX: Human Revolution (maybe Invisible War on a good day)

System Shock 1 and 2

Thief Gold, Thief 2, and heck, even Thief: Deadly Shadows

Super. Hot. Super. Hot. (and the sequel, Mind Control Delete, though I liked it less)

Descent 1 and 2

Condemned: Criminal Origins

Portal 1 and 2

Zeno Clash 1 and 2

Breakdown

Mirror's Edge

Bioshock 1 and 2 (BUT NOT INFINITE)

Prey 2017

Metroid Prime (if I can count that)

Resident Evil 7 (definitely stretching but I really liked it)

Aaaaaaaaaand... I admit I find Duke Nukem 3D overrated, but it's too iconic to not mention, so what the heck. Old-school Shadow Warrior is kind of problematic, but it's still nominally fun. I feel Blood rises above both myself, though. Okay, I think that's enough babbling for now!

Serious Sam franchise has always been at the top of my list. Waited 10 years for SS4 and it was sooooo disappointing...

I don't play fps games. I play Doom and other Doom engine games such as Heretic and Hexen. And I play Duke Nukem 3D.

I like Duke Nukem 3D as much as Doom.

- Most of the Valve Games

- A fair amount of other boomers shooters because they're very similar to doom.

- Call of Duty Black Ops III (specifically for the zombies game mode.)

- Halo: The Master Chief Collection

- Counter Stike: Global Offensive/Valorant - I really like the toxic shooters, they're great!

I got a little addicted to Unreal Tournament 2004 after getting it on GOG. I love it's gamemodes and weapon balance is excelent, not mentioning UT2004 bots make good opponents. Man, I even made a Hyperdimension Neptunia model pack for it not long ago (if you like to have deathmatches against cute anime girls, you should get it lol), Wish I knew how to make maps for it... UT2004 is my absolute favorite after DooM.

Other FPS games I like are: Heretic, Hexen, Duke Nukem 3D, Strife, Quake 1/2, Blood, Wolfenstein 3D, Wolfenstein New Order, Half-Life, Fallout 3/4, Dusk, Prey (2017), SUPERHOT, Rise of the Triad... and maybe more XD

I think Heretic shouldn't be seperated from Doom.

I wouldn't understand it if someone who liked Doom were disliking Heretic, which is Doom's brother.

Currently I am playing this 1 episode Heretic megawad (video does not belong to me).
