ultimate doom builder updates too often

Recommended Posts

Press F5, turn this checkbox off, and it won't bug you on startup anymore. But then you'll have to remember to update it from time to time when convenient; which you can do from Help > Check for updates

and there's even no drag-brightness options lol

What do you even mean by this? What kind of feature are you asking for?

select "brightness mode".

select "sector(s)"

and "Drag down holding the right mouse button"

"brightness down"

or

"Drag down holding the right mouse button"

"brightness up"

which is impossible in UDB.

I'd say that UDB updating frequently is the exact opposite of an issue, it means that there are multiple people who are motivated and dedicated enough to keep working on it, fixing any bugs it may have and adding new features and removing some cough cough.

And as Rainne said you can simply tick an option off in the Preferences/Settings and just manually check for updates once every few days or whenever you feel like it.

Add me to the list of people who fail to see a legitimate issue here.

This is such a strange and specific request. Are there other Doom editors that can do this? And how is this any better than Ctrl+RollWheel?

Well, TIL!

Ok, but if you'd like this feature to be re-implemented, why not put an official feature request into the Git? Or at the very least join the Discord and ask the developers about it?

Posting a mocking thread on Doomworld is not really going to engender the devs to your cause.

If you'd been polite about it they may well have added it back in for you. But I'm afraid that would've required updating your copy, and given you hate updates so much, maybe it's for the best that they don't.
