CoyoteComrade Posted October 25, 2020 So I own a copy of the Doom movie on DVD that comes with a demo for Doom 3 on Xbox. I do not own an original Xbox and it does nothing when I pop it into my Xbox One. Is there any interest in this demo or was my purchase a waste of a DVD? 0 Share this post Link to post
Shockwave_S08 Posted October 26, 2020 As far as I know, this particular functionality will only work with an OG-Xbox that has a DVD Playback Kit plugged into a controller port. The demo itself is the entirety of Mars City Underground. Also, the movie is relatively decent compared to Annihilation, so in my opinion it's still money well-spent. 0 Share this post Link to post

I suspect he might be referring to the demo itself, the movie should play on any dvd player depending on if it's manufactured as a normal dvd movie with the game data in a separate xbox data session. Xbox discs already work like this normally, with a small video saying you need to put it in an xbox, I suspect they did the same thing but with an entire movie. This demo won't work on anything except an original xbox, I even doubt the Xbox360 back compat will run it given it's unlikely to be included in the compatibility list (though if you have a 360 it could be worth trying). Otherwise hang onto it for when a PC emulator becomes mature enough to run it. 0 Share this post Link to post
