Greetings, Doomworld!

 

So I started an LP channel just for fun and occasional posting, and I thought it'd be fun if I did a little series called "Dev Plays" in which I play my own games, be they visual novels I create in Ren'Py, RPGs in RPG Maker, or Doom WADs that I map. And I thought it'd be fun to share them here as I post them.

 

Anyway, I hope you enjoy these silly videos of my own games. I always link them in the description of the video if you ever want to play them yourself (all my games are free). Enjoy?

My Magical Girl Romance [Visual Novel] a crack game made back in 2013

The first episode of Dev Plays is for my very first released game, a horrendous crack visual novel called "My Magical Girl Romance" which was made for a challenge to make an incredibly terrible visual novel.

Hahaha thanks! It was a lot of fun, and hope you enjoy more entries to come! I have a lot of short games I'll probably go through first before my longer ones (which will need to be in parts).

I tried the visual novel. And, below I'm going to state my opinion about it.

 

 

Graphics

The graphics are just stunning, seriously I haven't played a game with the "Game you had to make on Scratch in the 4th grade for an assignment that's 20% of the overall class grade." aesthetic. So the score... 10000000000000/10

 

The Story

The story was just plain crushing, I haven't cried so much while playing a video game in such a long time, in the end where Mo loses his eyes and vocal cords in the bus accident, but he still wants to express his love to Risa. Was just a very bittersweet and beautiful moment, and not to mention that how slowly Mo learns to love Risa as the story progresses. The Score: 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000/10

 

The Voice Acting

The voice acting showed a lot of expression, seriously I felt like I was their with the characters, It's better than the voice acting of any other game I played. So the verdict: 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000/10

Today I recorded a couple new Dev Plays of my projects, which I will piece together and post later. I will also be recording a couple more tomorrow with one of my voice actors, so that should be fun! I hope to get another one of these up on Sunday!

Oh dear. I can remember the products that teenaged me began making on RPG Maker on the PS1...

 

Yeah... those Memory Cards are long, long lost to the ether.

 

But I've still got some of my UT99 levels! And even a couple of crappy Doom maps that I made using WadAuthor!

 

But after that I began helping make competent mods for UT2004 and stuff.

 

(In all fairness though, you were trying to be INTENTIONALLY bad, so you most certainly succeeded! Smells like the results of Fiesta Night at the Garcia household.)

Yeah, being intentionally bad for a game is quite fun! I have quite a few I do like that (not to THAT insane of a degree like in my first one, but crack games are quite fun to produce). Of course I make non-crack games as well, which I hope to highlight soon.

So the last two months have been hectic, so I have been unable to upload some LPs I put together, and had a lot of technical difficulty trying to get one streamed with one of my VAs (we're trying again this weekend). However, now that things have slowed down, I am going to try and record more, especially of my longer games. Before that though, I opened a Q&A 'cause I thought it'd be fun to have a video where I answer questions, I got about 4 people sending questions in. So sometime next week, I will make a video of me answering those questions. So I will announce that here since it is still related to my dev'ing stuff. 

 

Anyway, hopefully I will have some videos up soon!

Okay so with much trial and error... the technical aspects of how to LP with a guest has finally been sorted out. The 2 short VNs though are currently still on hold, since my voice over for that one we still have some technical issues to sort, but I did another LP for one of my other games (this time one of my RPGs) with another of my VAs last night. I'll probably piece it together sometime this week and hopefully have it up by next Wednesday if all goes well! Strap yourselves in, it's a long playthrough... like close to 2 hours since we just sat and did the full game in one sitting lol.
