Artman2004 Posted December 2, 2020 With only a month left before Adobe Flash Player's inevitable demise, I thought we could all get together and talk about our favorite Flash games. You guys have any favorites? 1 Share this post Link to post

spineapple tea Posted December 3, 2020 (edited) There was a flash game that was called like "beat em'" or something. You punched the living shit out of a stickman and earned money more guns and whatnot. I remember finding this exploit where if you bought the thermometer and rapidly changed the temperature from the lowest to highest, you'd earn a stupid amount of cash really quick. Edit: I actually cant find the game anymore. If anyone knows what I'm talking about please link it here. Edited December 3, 2020 by N1ck 0 Share this post Link to post
Serum Posted December 3, 2020 (edited) FlashFlashRevolution Basically DDR for your keyboard. 2 decades old, but still has a pretty massive community and weekly song & engine updates. I think at this point, they've added over 2 thousand curated songs/simfiles. This game defined years of my life back in the day. Also, the skill level that many people have reached is truly something to behold 3 Share this post Link to post
Halfblind Posted December 3, 2020 In a twist of irony I discovered and started playing Unity Web Player and Flash games in 2019. I can still play Flash games but Unity Web Player has been replaced by WebGL and most of my favorite Unity Web games have not been converted to the new format. All my favorite Flash games are all available at kongregate.con which is slowly dying too. I wish I can download them all, so that I can preserve them for the future. I have over 30 Flash games on my favorites list, but here are my top favorites: Arcade Racing Games that use the Snake engine. 1. Neon Race 2 2. Highway of the Dead 3. Formula Racer 4. Super Bike Racer 5. Police Chase Crackdown 6. Heat Rush USA Other style flash games 7. Katie Commando - A really fun arcade third person shooter. I really, really want to download this one to preserve it. 1 Share this post Link to post
Percy T Posted December 3, 2020 Well, the reason I'm here on Doomworld today is because I stumbled across a Flash port of Doom sometime ago, so I'll give it to that game. Spoiler but cyclomaniacs is pretty fire tho. 0 Share this post Link to post

DNSKILL5 Posted December 3, 2020 (edited) The one I remember playing from time to time for a while back in the early to mid 2000’s was Bill Cosby’s Puddin’ Fun (this was post controversy-errr well, post everyone knowing about said controversy and him being held accountable for it that is). It was just so stupid of a game but enjoyable for the humor. Then, some of the sites that it was on had the game removed with a flash animation instead that claimed the game had been removed by the author because he was threatened with legal action by Bill Cosby’s lawyer. The game is still able to be found online though, but with Flash’s demise this won’t be for long. Looking back at this game, you can clearly tell the author was aware of the current allegations that existed at the time that flash game was made and that’s probably why his lawyers weren’t too happy about it at the time. while I wouldn’t consider that to be my favorite. It is sadly one of the only flash games I can remember the name of. So many I can’t remember their names, or they have been removed already, etc. I did play a lot of Wolfenflash 3D, which has been around long before we got the HTML port of the game. So I’d say since I can’t think of any off the top of my head by name, I will say that newgrounds was the site I went to the most for flash games and videos, despite there being countless other sites at the time. I must admit that I haven’t played a flash game since at least 2014 :( edit: it was “The Bill Cosby Fun Game”: https://youtu.be/l5MxgsCkZ84 Edited December 3, 2020 by Gerolf 0 Share this post Link to post
Dimon12321 Posted December 3, 2020 (edited) I played not so many flash games back in Windows XP days because I had no Internet and was forced to buy pirate disks, but my favourite ones were Bush Shoot-Out and Royal Rampage duet. Edited December 3, 2020 by Dimon12321 0 Share this post Link to post
forgettable pyromaniac Posted December 3, 2020 I still enjoy all of Johnochrome's games and animations immensely, so I'll just say my favorite flash game is Riddle Transfer 2 and be done with it :p 1 Share this post Link to post
Lone2401 Posted December 3, 2020 Where to begin. It's tough to pick just one but I'd have to go with Fancy Pants Adventure world 3. I'm also fond of the Fireboy and Watergirl series, Skywire, Mega Miner, Super Mario flash, and Ultimate Flash Sonic. There are some that I only played once like Dune Buggy, Feed n' Frenzy, Ratmaze 2, and Electricman. There's a few that I sadly only heard about recently such as Last Legacy, How to raise a dragon, Sinjid, Duke Dashington, and Super Mario 63. Club Penguin, Poptropica, and Webkinz should also be mentioned. On a related note, the ill-fated Unity3d web plugin had some decent games made for it, sadly not as well remembered or documented as flash games. 0 Share this post Link to post
Gaia74 Posted December 4, 2020 too many to name but intrusion and epic battle fantasy 4 <3 1 Share this post Link to post
ChopBlock223 Posted December 4, 2020 I liked those Japanese(?) puzzle ones where a miniature world would grow as you placed various things, and depending on which order you did things, you'd get varying results, with only one path giving you the full end. There wasn't really that much gameplay, but there was a logic to them, so depending on what you did, you'd figure out ideas they were getting at. They had really pretty graphics and I liked looking at them. There was also that Motherlode game, which had a very addictive formula. Ran like shit on my PC at the time though, lol. I guess also that PimpMyGun thing, which still functions and is hosted after so many years and no updates, though it's not so much a game as just a niche little art program online. There's also various ones which I remember, not because they were good, in fact, because they were extremely shitty, such as Asshunter, Mario With A Shotgun, and various really crude and ugly porn games, by people who draw and code terribly. I think what I remember flash for more fondly was the cartoons people made, like Decline Of Videogames, and those various Newgrounds collabs, of Streetfighter, Metal Gear, Halo, etc. 0 Share this post Link to post
CyberDestroyer Posted December 8, 2020 Well, I really liked Legend of Zelda: The Lampshade It was some flash fangame about metal gear, Zelda, Kirby, and other things I cant remember finding a lampshade or something. 1 Share this post Link to post
Vic Vos Posted December 8, 2020 I could've named a few, but my memory just isn't what it used to be. I remember being more fond of Flash animations than games. 0 Share this post Link to post

Omniarch Posted December 12, 2020 I don't know, I played so many of them in the late 2000's. They were a staple of my childhood. One I used to enjoy was Crush The Castle, a side-scrolling siege game where you control the ammunition type and firing trajectory of a medieval trebuchet, with the objective being to knock down the level's castle. The main reason I got so addicted was due to the presence of a level editor, so I could make my very own castles and promptly destroy them. Another example would be Star Dominion, a starcraft clone with a surprisingly-unique aesthetic. Actually, I played a huge number of online strategy games, though I don't remember many of their names. Age of War is one that I do recall, it was quite popular in the late 2000's, I think. I also played a rather interesting Metal Slug-style side-scrolling shooter, though again I can't remember its name. And a very violet hack 'em up where you play as Achilles and butcher endless armies of Trojans. There were a lot of sidescrolling shoot/hack 'em ups on the site I used (name sadly forgotten), many of them delightfully gibbulent. Probably the most interesting of the many flash games I played was a bizarre, vaguely Sonic-esque plaformer called Jade Wolf. Me and my lil' sis were completely enamored with that game for years, to the point that the titular canine ended up starring in our Avatar: The Last Airbender x Spyro The Dragon crossover fanfiction. Yes, you read that correctly. Its a very long story. If I had to choose a favourite, though, I'd probably have to go with Sploder's platformer game maker. While technically more of a simple game making toolset than a single flash game, I used to be quite prolific in the Sploder community as a young teen. Since the platform offered a variety of game making tools (which run on Flash) and a way to review and publicize said games, I was easily hooked. You know, some things never change. I've always enjoyed creating my own stories and experiences, whether it be novels, extremely long-from verbal role-plays or video game levels. Doom is the latest in a long line of obsessions, except this time I have a wonderful community of like-minded individuals to learn from and interact with. 0 Share this post Link to post
ScreechingBoner Posted December 18, 2020 Played quite a few as a kid, but the first one that really got stuck in my mind was Dad 'n' Me, the art style is just so good. 0 Share this post Link to post
ReaperAA Posted January 1, 2021 Sad that Adobe Flash has reached its end today. One of my favorite Flash games was Motherload. It was a very addictive game where your character is a drilling vehicle and you have to mine the ground for minerals which you can sell to get cash and upgrade your vehicle with better engine, armor, fuel capacity, storage etc. The deeper you go, the more valuable minerals exist. Also as you go deep, you uncover more of the message of lost/dead miners until you finally realize the truth. 1 Share this post Link to post
