ReeseJamPiece Posted December 16, 2020 Scotland was once a healthy and prideful nation that wouldn't submit to anyone. But nowadays, we're just a shitty Ireland. We have the lowest score in all of the UK when it comes to diet and IQ. Poverty is also a nationwide concern with cities such as Glasgow and Dundee having a child poverty rate of over 30%. What happened to us? This isn't Alba... Here are some sources I found, I'd like to know your opinion on this matter. Scotland just isn't the same as it used to be... https://www.scotsman.com/news/scotland-lags-europe-iq-league-2470181 https://www.dundeecity.gov.uk/sites/default/files/publications/poverty_profile_2019_fairness_0.pdf https://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-2057034/Scotlands-dreadful-diet.html https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-48938509 0 Share this post Link to post
Nine Inch Heels Posted December 16, 2020 If I were to make a very uneducated guess, so take this with a grain of salt, you're now looking at the results that came with the shift in Scotland's labour market. Manufacturing industries have been in decline for a while over there, while service based sectors have seen an upswing at about roughly the same "value". Usually, manufacturing is the economic branch that citizens with lower education find themselves in, while the service sector often requires higher levels of education, or even academic degrees... When you hold this up against the notion that the average Scottish IQ is lower in comparison to other first world EU states, it's not difficult to make the conclusive leap that many people who would've found a place in the workforce are now being left behind with a huge lack of perspective, since Scotland's shifting economical profile puts them at a relative disadvantage... Simultaneously, Scotland has also seen a trend when it comes to migration as per one of the articles you linked yourself - the more intelligent citizens try their luck elsewhere, while the less clever ones stay put and "breed", however demeaning it may sound... This could indicate that, despite Scotland's shifts, the economy has not been able to keep up with the demand for jobs that require a higher level of education... Poor eating habits, drug abuse, as well as child poverty could all very well be symptoms of this ongoing development that has been in motion for years or even decades... What little of the economy has remained stable, with a decent workforce to boot, is now subjected to the slippery slope that is trying to get decent trade deals with the EU, while hoping not to get fucked right up the ass by Britain... All things considered, and even though I'm mostly spitballing here, I don't believe the outlook is a very good one... and without profitable trade deals with the EU, the decline you're seeing now will most likely continue - probably even at an accelerated rate, covid or not... 0 Share this post Link to post
SilverMiner Posted December 16, 2020 Whatever happened to the place where you live, I dunno if you can do something with this, that's that. Maybe move to the place with better economy situation, if you have the desire and the means of course (I would prefer place with less taxes and less money) I think living and working in the place with falling economy is somewhat waste of time and... your life in the first place. It's up to you on what to do. Sorry if I said something that sounds cringe or radical 0 Share this post Link to post

My family ancestry has been contained within two cities for over 300 years. Basically everyone in my family has worked in a tertiary job. I'm 90% sure I'm inbred... 0 Share this post Link to post
ChopBlock223 Posted December 17, 2020 (edited) Well, inbreeding isn't great, but it isn't always as catastrophic as stereotypes suggest, either. I'm not inbred, and I'm a mess for other reasons, for instance. 0 Share this post Link to post

Despite this, she was one of the most educated and interesting people of her time. That is, if you look at sources other than the christian ones that demonize her for daring to have sexual autonomy. In regards to the situation in Scotland, yeah that sucks all around. I've never been there, but a fair number of my ancestors (supposedly) belonged to the old Clans. I think @Nine Inch Heels pretty much hit the nail on the head. 0 Share this post Link to post
dew Posted December 21, 2020 (edited) I just mentioned this elsewhere, but why not repeating it here. Scotland should be Norway #2. The offshore oil reserves should be enough to fund fully automated gay space communism, especially if there's a state investment fund set up. Scotland should be dirty rich, and it should show on all of its sparse population. Yet they're the laughing stock of the nation, because the English drilling companies give them peanuts from running the oil industry and the mainland is devoid of economical development. NIH mentioned the inevitable brain drain, but it has nothing to do with "the stupid" remaining and breeding lower IQ children, forget the eugenics aspect. It just means that anyone with a career hightails it to some promised land, taking their worth away from the nation. Which means lesser income from taxes, poorer schooling, plus poor people in general don't provide their children with opportunity to realize their potential... People end up stupid because they grew up poor. Any Randian fucko telling you to float from neck deep in the bog by dragging yourself up by the bootstraps, pointing towards to I dunno Elon Musk, is completely full of shit when it comes to the law of averages and the national scope. The main reason why Norway is rich and produces tons of highly educated and talented people is that unlike Scotland it isn't held in a chokehold by London. 8 Share this post Link to post
