PrBoom plus 2.5.1.5 sound is grainy and compressed

In PrBoom plus 2.5.1.5 the sound sounds quite grainy as well as compressed (low bitrate) and as far as I know it should not sound like this. The sound in PrBoom plus 2.5.1.4 sounds great so this is definitely not normal. I was wondering if there as a way to fix this as I'd prefer to use the later version.

I'm having this issue with the music using fluidsynth and a soundfont in 2.5.1.7um, yet the default TimGM6mb sounds fine. Is your issue also with music? Or sound effects? I also had fine music quality in 2.5.1.4.

 

In this case, it sounds like a 64kbps mp3 from the early 2000's.

Sorry I don't check doomworld much, so I didn't see your reply

 

The issue is with the sound effects, I compared it to GZ and Crispy and they both sound fine but 2.5.1.5's SFX still sound grainy and a little muffled. I compared the sound settings to 2.5.1.4 and the settings seem to be the same.

Also what is PrBoomum and where can I find the PrBoom thread? Sorry, I'm new to doomworld.
