What items count towards the % at the end of each level?

I think they are the health and armor bonuses, and porwer ups like invicibility soulsphere or radsuit etc.

Green or blue armor don't add to the total count.

 

But now i doubt of it, so i hope someone else pop up here to debunk me :/

I also wonder if what qualifies at % affecting items varies from different ports (PSX, SNES, etc...).

About the ports question, most certainly not, only difference could be that certain power up doesn't appear on said console port

I always thought the item count thing was kind of weird.  I imagine it dates from the time when Doom was gonna have score items like chests and unholy bibles and gems and whatnot, kind of like the treasure count in Wolf3D, and that they just sort of awkwardly kept it to track certain categories of items that can be picked up at any time.  I've never paid much mind to the item count myself, at least compared to the kill and secrets counts which are more fun to fill out.

Doom 2 GBA counts ammo clips, stimpacks and medikits however.
