Thanks for making these!  Any chance these can be made available as Doom graphics in WAD files?  I've tried using Slade to do this conversion myself but keep ending up with weird colors in the status bar in-game.

After importing into Slade, you'll need to right-click on the file and choose Graphic > Convert to...  In the dialog that pops up, make sure the top drop down box is set to Doom Gfx (Paletted). In the Colour Options, the left drop-down box should say Existing Global, and in the click it and choose Doom. Sunder and Sunlust use slightly modified versions of Doom's palette so this is fine.

Uncheck Enable Transparency, then click convert.

Options Should look like the screenshot.

Hi, I've tried these wad in Crispy Heretic (both nightly and latest, 5.10.3) and the titlepic does not show up correctly

no such issue with neither dsda nor gzdoom

Am I the only one facing this? Am I missing something?

You need to convert TITLEPIC to Doom Gfx in SLADE to make it appear as it should be (I've stumbled upon this myself: while playing Heretic with RAVEN Midi Pack in Russian Heretic source port (version 4.3), the CREDITS screen looked like on your screenshot). Credits to @SiFi270 for the initial solution post.

P. S. I've looked up what format the original screens from the WAD use, and it seems that they use the Graphic (Raw Screen) format, and RAVEN Midi Pack's CREDITS screen uses it too, which appears in Chocolate Heretic just fine. Strange... Maybe that's the odd thing with Crispy Heretic (and Crispy-derived ports while we're at it)? @fabian, do you have any thoughts what causes this?

Is there a widescreen hud for japanese community project? Its hud seems pretty hard to make a natural widescreen edit for so I couldn't make one myself, especially because I never draw

The Japanese variant is great for practicing your kanji number knowledge.

Is their number system the same? I loaded the japanese hud thinking it was widescreen included with the wad and was surprised that it's just normal numbers with different symbols

There's a second set by someone else that has different language files including Japanese numbers. They use both kanji and Arabic, usually Arabic in charts and whatnot. Kanji is used in similar situations as when you'd write out one, two, three, etc in English.

Edit: This is what it looks like.

Edit Edit: I was apparently combining some things with a few different wads. Here it is in a combined wad format. All credit goes to the original creators.

I was wondering if someone might be able to make up a fresh widescreen status bar for Valiant.  The only one I've been able to find so far has this ugly line in the middle of the border area if you use Doom Format in PrBoom+/DSDA-Doom, like so:

Would it be possible to have the SIGIL widescreen assets redone using the versions from its Minor Sprite Fix WAD as the starting point?  I don't really have any talent for graphical design or I would do it myself.  Here is the link to the sprite fix thread for SIGIL:

I combined NightFright's widescreen status bar for REKKR with the widescreen assets from the Sunken Land iwad file. While I did this mainly so I could play Sunken Land in widescreen in a source port other than GZDoom, from the testing I've done it seems to work just fine in both the standalone and PWAD versions of the original REKKR.

Quickly knocked up a widescreen title/intermission screen for Vanguard which I've combined with NightFright's widescreen status bar. Surprised it hasn't been done already considering how simple Vanguard's intermission screen is.

You mean to fix the aspect ratio?

Sorry I didn't respond sooner; I probably should've turned on notifications for replies. I'm not sure if that's what was done for the SIGIL Minor Sprite fix assets, to be honest.  I just figured they might be a good starting point for a new version of the widescreen assets.

Yeah, the minor sprite fix for SIGIL changes the fullscreen pics and the new texture so that the images are displayed properly in doom's aspect ratio. I think the widescreen SIGIL images already do this.

Figured that I hop in.

Some of these are a bit rough, however.

I cleaned up and extended Devalous's Heretic Status Bar to fully cover a 16:9 display. Widescreen support for Crispy Heretic is on the horizon! And also Crispy Hexen!!

BARBACK.png.f1595257800eab16c9b15591a213933c.png

Btw @Devalaous you might want to convert E2END to Doom gfx format and add some s_start/s_end markers in your widescreen WAD for Heretic as well, because the widescreen sprites doesn't seem to load in Crispy.

Just put a big pack of WADs together in the announcements for people to use. Not everything from this thread is in there, but it's a good start.

Could you tell me how to get this to work?
I made a .wad file in Slade and added this image to it named BARBACK. (Converted it, like you do with all statusbars and the like).
For some reason whenever I load the wad in GZDoom, the statusbar is completely screwed up.
I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong (probably am), but I can't quite figure out what.
I did a few widescreen wads for Doom already, and they end up fine, so I'm not sure if it's something with Heretic, or if I'm doing it wrong.
