But in my case, the wider my monitors got time after time, i never would go back. Not only for gaming. Another thing is, i have fun in doing that assets and its a good practise in using GIMP. And i write "up to 32:9", because those assets can be used with every today used aspect ratio. So everyone with a 16:10 or 16:9 monitor can use these assets too and so they are not only for niche 32:9 useage. When using this assets even 21:9 benefits a bit, because they are wider then the mostly used 560 pixel width which is a bit too short for so called 21:9 marketed monitors, because their real aspect ratios are 64:27, 43:18 and 24:10(12:5) which needs 576 pixels width to cover all of them completely. It has more detail then the INTERPIC of DOOM2. If someone has a good scan of the master levels poster included back in the days that would be helpful. 3 Share this post Link to post

THEBaratusII Posted August 13 Since the re-release of Doom is out there with community-made addon support, I decided to get a crack at making widescreen-assets. Here is two for EARTH.WAD (by Roger Ritenour) in 426x200. The first one was obviously easy because of the black background, but the second one while photographed I couldn't find a good photo to manually work with so I ended up uncropping it using AI with a tiny bit of touchups. I normally don't override the author's wishes... and in the case of Equinox, I left names blank because it felt intentional.
