Jiggahertz Posted April 27, 2021 (edited) Having recently beaten Plutonia 2, honestly I was a little bit disappointed. Since it was Plutonia 2, I was expecting it to be Plutonia 1 but dialed up to 11, but to my surprise I actually found a lot of the levels to be way easier than Plutonia 1, at least from what I can remember. Not only that but I feel like the overall quality and fun of the levels was just overall not as good, and I think Plutonia 1 is definitely way better (and more memorable) than Plutonia 2. What are your guys' thoughts? 0 Share this post Link to post
Arbys550 Posted April 27, 2021 Really? I'm gonna have to disagree with you that Plutonia 2 is easier. Plutonia 2 is one of my favorite wads, and I'd take it any day over Plutonia 1. Plutonia 2's levels offer a lot more exploration and the themes are more varied, which makes it a better playthrough for me. also I like how the levels are more detailed and look nicer overall. 8 Share this post Link to post
TheMagicMushroomMan Posted April 27, 2021 (edited) I personally perfer Plutonia 2, mainly for the variety, like @Arbys550 said. But then again, Plutonia 2 is much more modern and the developers had access to way more tools and options than the OG Plutonia Bros. Also, it would probably be more appropriate to write a review in the reviews section instead of creating a topic about this, that's what it's there for. I doubt the creators of Plutonia 2 would be thrilled to login and see a whole thread about this, not that you're being rude or bashing them or anything. 0 Share this post Link to post
RichardDS90 Posted April 27, 2021 I do find Plutonia 2 doesn't quite have the exact same spirit on Plutonia 1, though I would say PRCP does feel more Plutonia. 0 Share this post Link to post
i suck at nicknames Posted April 27, 2021 I liked Plutonia 2, but I feel PRCP did a way better job in presenting itself as a sequel to Plutonia. As far as ranking them goes: Plutonia 1 > PRCP > Plutonia 2 1 Share this post Link to post
MattFright Posted April 27, 2021 I dont think anyone should care about either of those two now that we have this. 3 Share this post Link to post
T-Rex Posted April 28, 2021 I think both Plutonia 2 and PRCP are very good megawads, and they are considerably harder than their predecessor. However, in terms of presentation, Plutonia 2 has more emphasis on adventure and exploration and combines the Plutonia theme with mapping sensibilities of the early 2000s, essentially bridging the gap between the old and what will be the standard of the upcoming 2010s, while PRCP is more or less a tribute to the original Plutonia, being much more stylistically conservative and not attempting anything remotely forward-looking, and despite taking some liberties, remains faithful to its progenitor for the most part with its myraid of homages to other maps, so its basically a megawad from 2011 that sticks to the mapping trends of 1996 and 1997. 4 Share this post Link to post
Jacek Bourne Posted May 5, 2021 I think plutonia 2 is both more difficult and enjoyable that plutonia. Therefore I prefer it. 1 Share this post Link to post
Deadwing Posted May 5, 2021 I like 1 more, but 2 is very good and it has lots of awesome maps. From what I remember, 2 is also harder than 1, but it has a distinct playstyle. (More tradicional instead of short and punchy like the 1) 1 Share this post Link to post
roadworx Posted May 5, 2021 plutonia 2 all the way, it's freakin fantastic. although, i'm also a huge gusta fan, so i'm a bit biased lol On 4/26/2021 at 8:02 PM, Arbys550 said: Really?
