Best and Worst console port of Doom

Nothing stops you from discussing the ones not listed in the poll.

 

If I am going to be honest, worst ports should only be narrowed to Saturn and 3DO.

No they shouldn't, those are what you consider as worst. Thats what the votes are for, to collect public opinion. A good vote must have all the options.

Also, I don't know why Teo stopped at Xbox.

 

Either stop at Saturn and call it the 90's consoles. (maybe +gba as exception, being a handheld it's capability is equivalent to a few generations back)

 

Or include all.

 

Stopping at Xbox seems arbitrary. No console of 21st century has the right to be bad at Doom, frekn Xbox runs Doom 3!

Best: PS1.

 

Worst: SNES.

 

Disclaimer: Those are the only two console ports I've played.

Best - PS1 - Good framerate, customisable controls, new light effects and a couple of extra maps.

 

Worst - SNES - I know that from a technical standpoint it´s impressive that it even runs, but due to the custom  (and clunky engine) the game feels and plays like a chinese bootleg.  It just doesn´t feel like Doom. Although 3DO Doom has the worst framerate it at least uses the original engine.

Best: PSX

 

Worst: Saturn

 

Don't own the Jag, 3DO or GBA versions.

The PS1 version was even better than the PC version at the time so it's obvious it's the best one.

 

Considering the hardware, Saturn Doom could've been so much better than it is and that makes it the worst in my eyes.

 

Whoever voted PS1 Doom to be the worst, i seriously doubt your sanity!

Playstation is the best port of Doom by far! The 3DO port of Doom is actually quite terrible, although it's got a kick ass soundtrack.
