The_Trve_Raith Posted July 24, 2021 Not sure if this goes here or Everything Else, but I'll ask anyway. So sometimes when I go over to a friends house or something like that I bring my laptop, instead of my main PC I have at home. And of course I still play Doom on this one, but for when I'm playing megaWADs and such, how do I transfer my save on this laptop, to my main PC? 0 Share this post Link to post
MFG38 Posted July 24, 2021 Put it on a flash drive or use a cloud service like Dropbox. 3 Share this post Link to post
TheEvilGrin Posted July 24, 2021 (edited) Look for the 'save' folder in your gzdoom folder and copy it - if there's none it means you're on an older version ; in which case you just need to transfer the files named 'save#.zds' where # is a number. GZDoom finds them on its own when you open the 'load' panel. Just make sure to paste them into your GZDoom folder on your PC. They may have the same names, which will cause conflicts : if that happens, you'll need to rename them (that won't affect your save in game) 1 Share this post Link to post

Kappes Buur Posted July 24, 2021 (edited) As already mentioned, copy the files to a flashdrive. "But what files?" you may ask. As you know, saves for GZDoom are version specific. Therefore you should copy to the flashdrive all of the GZDoom folder and the pwads you played. Plus, for just in case, also copy the IWAD(s). 1 Share this post Link to post
The_SloVinator Posted July 24, 2021 Either cloud storage (mediafire, mega, dropbox) or USB. Best thing to do is to save the entire Gzdoom folder, so that guarantees your save files to work flawlessly in the future use. 1 Share this post Link to post

DoomGater Posted July 24, 2021 Saving is for pussies. BTW: There is a place for source-port-specific questions. 1 Share this post Link to post

xX_Lol6_Xx Posted July 25, 2021 You can use a cloud service, just be careful, I believe that the save will only work in the specific version of the port you used, so be sure to have the same version installed in both computers 0 Share this post Link to post
