Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City

Recommended Posts

I don’t think anyone has made a topic about this yet, but I guess I will. So RE is set to get a movie reboot this November and fans seem to be divided. It’s supposed to ACTUALLY be based on the first 2 games this time around. There’ll be NO ALICE (THANK GOD) and will actually be a straight up horror movie.

Fans seem to be very divided on the casting of Leon and Jill. Resident-Evil-Welcome-to-Raccoon-City-1.^This is Leon and Claire Resident-Evil-Welcome-To-Raccoon-City-Ca^ this is Jill with Chris and I think Wesker.

I can see why fans may be upset by the casting decisions, but I’ve seen these 2 in other things to know they’ll do fine hopefully. Also Leon’s character is different from the game’s Leon. In the movie he used to be a drug addict and is a rookie cop. So already this Leon sounds different from the game which is why this casting also doesn’t bother me.

My issue with the movie is they seem to be combining 1 and 2 which tells me they are not expecting sequels to this and that’s why they threw in Leon and Claire. Johannes Roberts is also directing. He directed the 47 Meters down movies and Strangers Prey at Night. While he’s not a terrible director, he would NOT have been my first choice to direct this.

I’m interested to hear what Doomworld thinks of this.

Several CG movies have been made already. Why do they even bother making this one live-action?

Cause CG movies don’t bring money. Live action ones do I guess.

As a very casual Resident Evil enjoyer all I can say is that at least Uwe Boll is not involved

He did The House of The Dead dirty...

I hate "that guy" and really don't want to be "that guy" but it does look a shade amateurish.

Someone on another message board thought it was a porno version. I guess I could see that lol.

Huge RE fan here and I'm not gonna watch it because I'm tired of videogame movies. They can never be good adaptions, at best they can be decent facsimiles. I'll probably watch a few clips on Youtube like I've done for the other RE movies.

Clearly you haven’t seen Sonic or Werewolves Within.

If that is so, then why do Capcom keep making them? Last I checked, there are four of them (including Infinite Darkness) now.

NOT IN THEATERS I mean. Remember the Ratchet And Clank movie?

No. I admit I do not even remember much of Ratchet & Clank as a video game series... :/

Anyway, with the ongoing pandemic, I am surprised they are still trying to release movies in theaters.
