Do you own any old game consoles/games

Recommended Posts

Title says all:
I have a DMG-001 Gameboy laying around, but it doesn't work (I don't have any games for it)
kinda expected, also the screen is... not good (cracked)

I have had exactly two consoles - an Atari 2600 Jr knockoff called a Kingsway with 64 built in games (well it was a family console really), and a Sega Master System. Went from the Sega straight to PC gaming when I was about 12 or 13. So not a lot of console history there (though played a lot of Mega Drive/Genesis at friend's and families). I am pretty sure I kept a few of my old Master System cartridges as keepsakes, they are buried in a box somewhere.

Yes that's the one. I actually found that image myself recently. Piece of junk lol. Joystick build quality was was, shall we say, less than inspirational but they basically worked. I only dimly remember what games were on it. We only played a select few. Pitfall was on there, and some passably decent shooters whose names escape me.

2 Atari 2600s, an Odyssey 2, 2 PS2s, 2 PS3s, a PS1, a PSP2000, 2 DS Lites, a GBA (first model), a WonderSwan, a GB, a GBC, a Gamecube, 2 NES, an SNES, an xbox 360 w/ a harddrive, a modified original xbox, an N64, a Model 1 Genesis, a Dreamcast, a broken GBA-SP, 2 Wiis (including the awful red 'canadian' model) and a Coleco Bowlatronic.

Used to collect, but I've significantly slowed down.

Jesus Christ. What in the hell is even a Bowlatronic?
Also what modification did you make for the XBOX

I still have my GBC and like 15 carts for it.
I treasure it a lot.

I have my genesis, too. But the power source burnt, so i don't know if it still works.

I been trying for years to get a good retro console to play the classics with a good flash cart or EverDrive.
But all was kinda futile hahah.
I ended with a good cellphone that i can connect to a TV and attach a joystick to it and emulate pretty much all the good old games :P

Dang, that sucks.
Do you have any of the "add-ons" (lol) for it? (Sega CD, 32X)

@drjpeg

Oh, my dad had sent it into a guy back in like 2006-2008?, and he did some kind of softmod that allowed for you to play emulators on the xbox - he also put in a 500 GB harddrive - I've since reset the mod so that I can submit Project Gotham Racing times on score sites. Oh, this is a bowlatronic:

Probably one of the largest 'handhelds' out there...

nah, just the normal Genesis.
I did have quite a good amount of games, like 50 games or so, and that when i was a kid.
But i give them all to my cousing... and i don't know what the fuck he did with those games.

Last time i heard of them, he had them on a vacation house with his own genesis, so hopefully, they may still work, too.

Damn, i forgot that i have my PSX, too.
I still use it sometimes, but for some reason, it get me sleepy hahah
I really enjoy playing games there, but i play laid on my bed and i usually fall sleep without realising while playing hahaha

Some years ago, I have found a discarded Playstation Portable in a electronic garbage bin. I got it to work again, but the right shoulder button oftentimes gets stuck nowadays, which discourages me from playing certain types of games. I use it to play turn-based RPG games while traveling.

Mechanism is probably jank now. I mean:
"I have found a discarded Playstation Portable in a electronic garbage bin."
Would make sense.

Well, for the longest time, it was working just fine. It still does, so long as I avoid pressing the right shoulder button too much.

I suspect the console was thrown to the trash because it is not longer supported by Sony and it cannot be traded back in game stores.

Well I own a bunch:

  • NES with Super Mario Bros
  • SNES with a bunch of games (too many to list but they aren't worth mentioning TBH)
  • N64 with Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie, and Quake 2
  • Gamecube with Mario Sunshine, Double Dash, Luigi's Mansion, Mario Party 6, Pikmin, and Sonic Adventure DX
  • PS2 Slim with Sonic Mega Collection Plus and Crash The Wrath of Cortex
  • GBA (first model) with Mario Kart Super Circuit, Game & Watch Gallery 4, Sonic Genesis (Yeah, THAT port (it broke though and was fake)), Monkey Ball Jr, and Rhythm Tengoku (<- one of my most prized games)
  • A few Gameboy games like Mario Land 2, but I lost most of it due to me losing my Game Boy Pocket =/

That should be it.

I've got a couple

image.png.3a2df86610f37e4b5af187b465c74490.png

Since I took this picture the NES has been replaced with an Analogue NT Mini, and the Framemeister is now a Retrotink 5x. My cabling hasn't gotten any better, though. I've got the original Genesis and SNES in a closet, along with a C128 and an Amiga 3000. For portables I've got a DMG GB, GBC, GBA, GBA SP, Neo Geo Pocket Color, Game Gear, DS Lite, DSi XL, 3DS, several PSPs, a Vita, and a GP2x.

I don't have the time to play much of this shit anymore, it's just nice to be able to if I so desire.

I got an old gameboy that I got kirby on. It does work thankfully but never have the batteries around for it. I know I can just emulate the game, cause I have, but just would be neat to do 1 playthrough on the actual gameboy just cause.

I have a Gameboy Color with a small collection of games, and a DS with only about half a handful of games.

If you consider the Wii to be old, my family used to own two of them, though bought at different times. They both ended up having the same fate: going unused for a long time until we decide to use them again, and then realize the disk drive doesn't work anymore.

My sister have an Atari 2600 and I had a NES clone called Phantom System. But what I played the most was on MS-DOS. I don't remember the PC at the time, probably a 486 followed by a Pentium 2.

I just found that i have a fully functional Comodore 64 :D
But its hard and annoying as hell to set it up.
Cassete like format is not fun, really

I remember that my Godfather lend it to me really long ago, but never get to use it pretty much as i only got one game, but a damn fine one, Jet Set Willy ;)

Now,i can't get ''If i was a rich man'' ringing from my head all the time.

Is the DS old enough to count?  It's almost 17 years old, I personally loved tetris ds and I think it's the definitive Tetris.  I put away my DS once I got a 3ds however but I don't remember where, It didn't even matter for gba games as my brother had claimed them all and I didn't care.  I miss portable games, the ability to quickly make progress in even 10 minutes is something I miss about the platform.  Not that long games are bad, but the ability to walk away after an hour of making good progress when playing a game helps so much with motivating me to continue.  I very much hate that the switch has helped the decline of portable games.
