  • Tested with: GZDoom 4.7.1, Zandronum
  • Editors Used: Ultimate Doom Builder, Slade 3
  • Build Time: 3 Days 
  • Player Spawns: 6
  • Description: I tried detailing as much as I could without affecting gameplay, it was quite entertaining to build.

I'd like to take MAP04 slot if that's ok?

 

Also when you say UDMF and Gzdoom, pretty much anything goes then, correct? ~ 3dfloors, 3dfloor slopes, dyno lighting, ACS scripts, INFO lumps, polyobjects, models, etc.

Reason I ask is because I started on this last night and it has a 3d bridge in it:

Actually this might work out better as a later map, MAP10 maybe, just because it's kind of demonic looking.

Both maps look nice, and those logos are fire! I'll give you some time to figure out. I have been very busy so the music might just be some Jimmy pieces and Mark Klem pieces.

I finished this map like a month ago and completly forgot to post it here, oh well

BFG room, the layout is mostly there, still need to texture/detail it.

Plasma gun room, just started on it.

 

The layout for the map is almost done.

It is a symmetrical map for the most part. The floating cube's you see around the map are actually models and are slowly rotating.

~ there's smaller cubes also that are 3dfloors. and are slowly floating up and down. Just made a small waggle script for those.

I have no idea why it's starting to look like some sort of Aztech indian face, with a mohawk lol.

 

It's probably about 60% done or so.

The name of it is currently, "The Forged Souls of Deathmatch"..heh.

But to keep things simple, it will probably just be called "Forged Souls".

 

It's setup as a pk3 directory structure, and gothictx.wad is loaded as the resource wad in UDB, besides Doom2.wad.

The music (as a place holder) is currently Slip Knot's - Psychosocial, as a midi.

 

 

I'll let you know when I feel it's ready for testing. Hopefully it won't be long.. ;)

I take a break from mapping for a few months, and one of my dream projects come up. I'll claim a map slot, dealer's choice. Always loved gothic :)

Also forgot to mention that yes UDMF everything goes. I'm pretty sure it could run on some ZDaemon or Zandronum or something.

I'm putting this at MAP06 I think, since we've got a MAP08. Currently putting together, I've got 4/12 maps, so I might release a little demo before long.

Got the basic layout done, now on to aesthetics/gameplay :) Thinking a sort of industrial/nukage theme kind of like this:

I mean, as soon as I figure out the rest of the UI (and test it with Zandro, maybe)...

UPDATE 2: Finally figured out how to do a proper widescreen status bar in GZDoom (while it's gonna be supported, anyway) and Zandronum. Replaced GRNROCK for smaller screen sizes and stole two fonts for the UI. Didn't modify the menu graphics yet.

Sadly, not yet, I'm busy with a somewhat different Doom-related project. Will definitely finish it up, though.

Hi can I reserve a map slot? Working on something at the moment.

 

Edit: Nevermind I finished the map. It's some sort of neon lit necropolis. It's more of a 'newschool' map with a gothic theme. If you need it to be more Gothic99 that's fine I can make changes, just let me know. The midi is just a placeholder.
