Tactical Burger (Old acc) Posted October 9, 2021 So you might renember that i posted a topic to doomworld titled "my first wad" well since that post i read all the feadback and i am proud to present the sequel "My second wad". smeghammer Posted October 9, 2021 So, I just played this. It's quite fun... No glaring errors - didn't play the first version - I guess the feedback prompted improvements since then? It's certainly playable - I didn't get all kills and I didn't get into the grey building near the end. The ammo balance was about right - possibly a bit generous (despite me screwing up near the start). Is probably plenty for better players than me. thiccyosh Posted October 10, 2021 You did well! This version is better than the other one, mainly there is more ammo and health. And more enemies that serve as a semi-threat! You've also added some details like the 'Imp box' (gave me a good laugh actually) and the sewage pipe behind one of the buildings in the city area. And you got rid of d_runnin, which is a blessing for me. The midi is odd, but I like it. Though there is one technical goof you absolutely need to fix: Do not place your midi between the map data, you've placed the midi where the blockmap should be, and Doom doesn't like that. That's why you (at least in dsda-doom) can walk through walls and enemies cannot hit you. Please please keep that in mind! Oh! You've also said you're working on a megawad, a megawad is a huge task that usually noone (even expert map makers) can do it alone, so make fewer levels or leave yourself enough time to come up with map ideas to not frustrate yourself.
