How would one go 'round making a DeHackEd patch on a Mac?

Question

DeMackEd is PowerPC, so can't use that, and DOOMinator uses classic, which is probably even older.

Is there a more modern one I don't know about, or will I just need to swallow my pride and make it in a text file
(which REALLY don't want to do unless that's the only choice)

[Seriously why can't we run PowerPC software on modern systems]

never really used command-line tools before.

The command-line tool for macOS is Terminal. Sadly it's got a bit of learning curve. The good thing about it is that it's the same as on Linux, so you can find help either place without needing it to be explicitly Mac specific.

If you can run dosbox the original dehacked might run in it. Maybe 😁

tried this. doesn't work because the mouse is stuck on the top half of the screen, making me unable to hit the save button at the bottom.

Try hotkeys then. Being a DOS tool when mouse availability was uncertain, tools like DEHACKED necessarily had hotkeys.
