Either E1M2 (Imp's Song), E1M8 (Sign of Evil), E2M8 (Nobody Told Me About ID), E2M1 (I Sawed the Demons), okay I'm just gonna be listing a lot of Doom 1's music, so much of it is just really good. For Doom 2, Into Sandy's City is obviously just extremely cool and good. Endgame, the text crawl music, is really nice and I am glad Plutonia makes use of it for the Circle of Death O of Destruction map. Message for the Archevile is also good but I just think it takes too long to really kick in. In a longer map I like it, but for shorter maps it just does not do.

E2M1 is also good. I'd argue better than E1M1.

Wow that's tough, probably a tie between E1M3/E2M6.

Both are the perfect example of an ambient/atmospheric track that is both melodic, rhythmic, and simple but-not-too-simple in all the right places.

Classic Doom music can sometimes be more interested in being catchy or good then fitting,

that's why I like the ones that set an appropriate mood more.

Those are all my favorites as well! D_DDTBLU is so repetitive that it puts me in a trance like state lol. I think that's a good thing, keeps my interested in the game. And you can't best Into Sandy's City, awesome track.

Either "Sign of Evil," "Into Sandy's City," or "Kitchen Ace."

 

Sign of Evil: Atmospheric, moody, gives you that feeling of "oh shit what's next" and has a sort of gloomy metal feeling that fits the torture.

Into Sandy's City: A headbanging harpsichord riff that has some of the coldest drums in the business. Industrial feeling for the map, fitting.
Kitchen Ace: It kinda has that techbase feeling to it. I don't know it's a hard rocking piece that I just really like.

I found map01 of tnt pretty catchy, it suits perfectly for a short and sweet opener.

Map 01 of Doom 64 in Doom 2. It just fits the theme of Doom64 (Doomguy’s last mission) so well. It’s melancholy and bittersweet, and just has loads of atmosphere. Great track.

think mine'll be Mucus Flow for the rest of time. fave in stock stuff is d_messg but there's like 60 community musicians just on these boards making more interesting stuff than the original set
