You can easily achieve this in GZDoom with the console command :)

gl_texture 0

It would look like this:

Then try gl_ssao_debug 4. What it does is coloring each surface according to its normal (its orientation, basically).

You need ambient occlusion quality to be set to something other than "off" for it to work, since it was originally put in, as its name implies, as an AO debug feature.

Somewhat related, but I tried setting it to 3 and it's downright spooky.
