Remilia Scarlet Posted January 23, 2003 Anyone know of any thing like an IME for Office 97? I can't seem to find one. 0 Share this post Link to post
Ichor Posted January 23, 2003 I checked the Microsoft site, and they all seem to work for Office XP. I suppose it's possible that they could work for Office 97. I don't use either program, so I don't know for sure. 0 Share this post Link to post
Ichor Posted January 23, 2003 I'll put this in Questions, since this seems to fit better there, after I'm finished with a little...hedge trimming. 0 Share this post Link to post
myk Posted January 23, 2003 Uh, this is something related to "Classic Doom"? There's Post Limbo... er, Everything Else, for this kind of miscellaneous crap. 0 Share this post Link to post

Ichor Posted January 23, 2003 Questions don't have to be about Doom. It just so happens that a lot of them are. Besides, with the way things were going, it would likely have ended up in Hell. 0 Share this post Link to post
myk Posted January 23, 2003 The Questions Forum description says: Got a Doom question? Ask it here, and get all the answers with none of the BS. Anything not about DOOM or DOOM III goes in the Everything Else forum (except news and fan art, that have their own forums.) 0 Share this post Link to post
Bloodshedder Posted January 23, 2003 OK, this thread can stay. Mostly, the questions in here DO have to do with Doom, but some of them are for things that are more technical. For instance, we've had about 4 threads alone in here that had to do with converting MIDI to WAV/MP3. There's been talk about moving this forum into the Misc. category, but I dunno. Anyways, just what is an input method editor? 0 Share this post Link to post
myk Posted January 23, 2003 It lets an application or OS read/input nonstandard characters, like from other languages. TeamKill, usually MS Office is sold in different languages, and you'd have to buy a version in the language you want. A possible alternative would be getting OpenOffice, but you'd have to see if they support the language you want. http://www.openoffice.org/ 0 Share this post Link to post
Remilia Scarlet Posted January 24, 2003 I know that for Office 2000 and 2002/XP, all you do is download an IME and install it. Since I have my Japanese class, I downloaded a Japanese IME for OfficeXP to type stuff up. I can use my US keyboard to enter Japanese characters. It'll convert my keystrokes to hiragana, katakana, or the correct mixture of those plus kanji. However, I also need to find one for Office 97, if one even exists for that version. Upgrading to Office 2000 or higher is out of the question, btw. 0 Share this post Link to post
