what extinct REAL animal is your favorite?

just curious to see what you guys think.
my favorite living animal has to be a sand boa. reminds me of the worms from dune. really i like alot of desert animals.

my favorite extinct animal is a very little know one. probably a relitive of humans too. it stood about 6-7 feet and had a massive lower jaw. this ape/human/creature ate bamboo, panda food, and was found in asia. fossiles are found in caves along side human remains. some think this creature survived until a few thousand years ago.

Hmm, thats actually alot of animeals. But the first that come to mind are:

Living:
Dolphins
Cats
Hedgehogs (theyre so adorable)
Casowaries(sp?) Theyre large birds that have been around for a long time. Look like dinosaurs almost and have been known to kill people
Aligators and crocs
most reptiles in general

Extinct:
Definetely the Utahraptor (Ever read "Raptor Red" by Robert Bakker?)
Elasmosaurs
