I need help with PrBoom+

Hey guys

A few days ago i've got a new PC, and i wanted to try out prboom+, this is my first time using it.

Can someone explain me how do i run prboom with parameters? i know that you need to do something in CMD

you mean for having the complevels, recording, playing back demos and all?

you can make a shortcut for the exe and add the parameters you need. or create a batch file with the same thing.

i dont recall using the cmd at all.

also i recomend you get dsda-doom which is a fork of prboom+ instad. :D

you could also use a launcher.

what i used to do is, i made a text file and put all the parameters.

something like 

"dsda-doom.exe -iwad doom2.wad -file thewadyouwant.wad -complevel 2"

and then rename the .txt to a .bat

i think dsda-doom has a built in launcher to type the parameters in.

This vid helped me install and run Prboom+ when I knew nothing about it at the time. I highly recommend you try giving this a shot.

personally I'd reccomend DSDA doom, Woof or some other more recent ports, more features without sacrificing the classicness of doom

Download ZDL, tell it where your source ports and IWADs are located, and put any command line arguments you want in the "extra command-line arguments" box.

For those who prefer stability over 'Zomg more features', PRBoom+ has its place I'd say.

Not sure if "stability" is PrBoom+'s biggest strength, though. ;)

If you really, really want plain PrBoom+, go for the UMAPINFO port
