One it's a cloaca; an orifice where urine and excrement are both expelled. The other one is for regulating air pressure and leads to an aerial equivalent of a swim bladder; an organ filled with gas which helps fishes in controlling buoyancy.

This might have been someone else's theory, honestly I can't remember and searching the forums for "cacodemon" yields over 500 results, as one would expect. I don't recall knowing about Adrian's morgue experience, but then I also spent a decade drowning my brain in liquor.
