K_Doom Posted April 20, 2022 Hi everyone, I've been working on my first map for a while now, and now I have a question. I created a big sector and I wanted to fill it with monsters, which means putting a lot of monsters. But that would at least turn this industry into a "slaughter map" and I realized that a lot of people don't like that sort of thing. Does anyone have a problem with this if it's just one snippet? Do you have any tips on how I can fill a large sector without looking "boring" like a slaughter map? I can send you the non-ready version of the map for you to test. 0 Share this post Link to post

Pegleg Posted April 20, 2022 @K_Doom There are a lot of things you can do to populate a large sector, but what things might work best will depend on the size and the structure of the large sector. How big is the sector? What is its shape? Is it wide open or are there features that could be used as cover (or as a place to put turreted monsters)? Is it basically one height level or does the height vary? Are there pain sectors or anything else that will act to restrict your movement? You could always post screenshots of the sector, even if it's just in the editor, which will give people an idea of what you're working with. 1 Share this post Link to post

Maybe they thought your map was too incomplete or possibly not interesting enough, or whatever. Now that the map is no longer available you can expect only generalities. The important questions are: What mapping format? Is that sector indoors or outdoors? If indoors, then make sure that you vary the architecture and lighting. Since you are happy with how that sector has progressed I don't think my involvement is required. But, if you are looking for someone to test your map, then you could PM me the pwad.
