I really liked Doom 2016 and eternal's designs.  I also really like Duke 3d's guns, the sweet combat shotgun with a pump handle, triple barreled silenced machine gun, thicc rocket launcher, rocket arms.  Good stuff.

I really liked the weapon designs in Unreal Tournament 3, come to think of it.

 

Kinda surprised nobody's mentioned Rise of the Triad's various missile launchers yet though.

Quake 2 has good looking weapons as well. FEAR to some extend.

As a weapons enthusiast, I prefer guns that are more realistic.

I'd have to say the best guns in any game for its time would have to be Goldeneye 007 on Nintendo 64.

They'd be great even if you didn't know the stupid amount of work that went into them. 

 

UT '99 is probably top of the pile for me, perhaps only because I haven't spent nearly as long with other entries in the series, but it's definitely the roster that came to mind first.

 

Blood, Perfect Dark and Ion Maiden rate pretty high, though. I'm surprised at the latter, because it's so recent, but the entire arsenal is ridiculously stylish and inventive.

i might have to give up on ET and say its Blood that has the best weapons.

I'm a Sprite guy so Ion Fury, Shadow Warrior and Blood all have some really cool weapon sprites, Amid Evil and Heretic also for the fantasy theme, and Prodeus, whatever that is doing, those are really cool looking weapons.
