ALPHA SOULS to replace SS Officer

I loved the Alpha Souls from Doom Zero.. Id like to put them in my latest Map. Can anyone explain how as Simply as Possible?! I know how to use slade3 and can follow direction. Even if the direction is to a video lesson.

So, if im strictly using DooM2 assets for my map, when i am finished and export my  .wad(HellMap), do i just add that rictus.wad info into my map wad using slade?
(P.s. I found the Rictus from Realm667 and downloaded it, i just dont know how to get him into my doom 2 wad that i am using resources from.) 

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. I think the Rictus is just a flaming skull...is it? I am looking for the one in DooM Zero specifically, He lobs cacodemon projectiles and explodes in green fire.

I PLAY my DooM using PrBooM... (+) I prefer BooM compatibility. I map & test using GzDooM, And when this current map is done, ill test it on my main device. Im building in BOOM COMPATIBILITY. I dont care for the drag and drop of GZDooM. I like to alter wads manually, change things, add things... get to know the ins and outs of wads and how they work. Im only a few years into it all.

how to properly do it within boom compat:

 

Spoiler

 

open up doom zero and search for sskl

copy them and add it to your wad archive 

rename them to sswv (dont change the symbols)

add a new entry

name it ss_start

hit ok and and select the entry

(press ctrl u to move it up it needs to be at the top)

do the same thing but name the entry s_end and hit ctrl d it has to be at the bottom

save and exit slade

open up doombuilder

make your resources doom2 and the wad you put your lost soul in

and go insane

I can explain how to change nazi ss sounds if you want me too its really easy

just open up doom zero again and search for dsss under audio

copy them over to your wad and make sure its below the s_end entry

You'll also need to do some Dehacked work. . . see Doomkid's tutorial on YouTube. I forget if the health, movement, etc. stats are any different, but as far as the states go you'll just need to change the attack from the SS attack to the Caco's. You can open Doom Zero's Dehacked patch to check the other stats for it.

Got it , Everyone! I tweaked and added every feature I wanted. Used the info from this thread AND DooMKids video on Whack3d . (Alpha Soul) He works great! although he still drops pistol ammo upon death, thats normal ,right? DooMkid says its hardcoded as a feature. Oh and I got all the sounds  for him, also when he gets shot, it sounds like youre shooting a former Human. The attack sounds, death sound & chant are all working fine, though.

That is correct. The way to get around that would be use an unused actor, like the Dead Lost Soul, and give it all the states you used for the SS. Then it won’t drop anything upon death.
