IIRC, FluidSynth can only be used in 32-bit versions of SLADE, and you likely downloaded the 64-bit version of SLADE.

The reason for this is that FluidSynth does not exist as a 64-bit app.

Have a look at what the error says and check for that.

I feel this is beyond obvious but i am just saying it anyway.

Did you specify the path to the soundfont?

Output should be set to midi and check in cfg for brackets.

Otherwise attach cfg.

In the past some people reported running some editors as problematic and were unable to run the editor when it was located in C:\Program Files. I do not know why exactly, but somebody mentioned that Program Files is supervised by Windows and wants to run everthing there with Administrator checks. Moving the files to another location like C:\DOOM\Slade seemed to solve those problems.

Is 64 bits

I think what Doomkid was getting at is that a 32bit program can run on a 64bit system.  So if you 'really' wanted to have fluidsynth, running the 32bit version of SLADE on a 64bit system is perfectly fine.
