Techseus Labyrinth - a big UDMF level using System Shock textures

Recommended Posts

This is the result of weeks of mapping and also
playing System Shock while listening to hours of Jungle/DnB.
I'm very fond of the texture pack I used here and
the colourful arcade tech atmosphere it brings
to the maze. One rule for this map was zero teleporters,
so I used more 3D floors than ever before.

You'll be able to traverse the map through many different
                          routes.

If you explore enough you'll unlock medical stations
which you can use more than once to restore your health.
Also the computer area map is very important here.

                          >Use the default compatibility mode (this is a UDMF map).
                          >Jump/crouch are not allowed.
                          >Doom2 IWAD required.

I'd appreciate if you share some feedback.
                          Enjoy!!

(the textures are already merged with the WAD, I
just wanted to provide the link where I acquired
                          them).

This really was a labyrinth! I always kind of knew what I was supposed to be doing though and sometimes it was just a case of looking at the automap trying to figure out how to get to an area. Gameplay was fun, I was able to play fairly fast and loose without ever struggling too much. I liked the texture usage - this texture pack can really make relatively simple rooms look interesting and lively. Overall, would recommend this as a good way to spend an hour or so.

I was a little annoyed that an Arch-vile and spectres were placed in the sludge in the last bit before reaching the exit.

Wow, that's was quite spectacular yet not too frustrating because the "Where the heck do I go next" feeling wasn't bombing me during the walkthrough.
