Sprinkled Doom falls back to native midi from fluidsynth?

Recommended Posts

Whenever I launch the sprinkled doom setup file, the line fluidsynth_sf_path "" appears in a sprinkled-doom.cfg file. But whenever I launch the game, this line disappears from there completely. I am trying to use a custom soundfont to play the game, so I set fluidsynth_sf_path "C:\soundfonts\SnesDoom.sf2", but the game deletes the fluidsynth_sf_path and falls back to native midi causing volume sliders to bug out (chaning music volume mutes sfx volume).

Any ideas?

Ah... So, Fluidsynth support was removed from Sprinkled Doom as was mentioned in Sprinkled Doom thread on page 3:

Ok, but, is there any way to fix music volume muting sfx volume?

Assuming you've compiled your own SDL_Mixer with FluidSynth support, you can also set the soundfont path via the SDL_SOUNDFONTS environment variable.

Thanks!

This fixes music volume slider affecting sfx volume slider. Now they work properly!
