Lord FlatHead Posted February 5, 2003 http://www.theanimatrix.com They've posted the first episode of a little animated mini-series prequel to the Matrix movies. It's really, really well made and I recommend anyone with broadband (or with dial-up and loads of patience) to go see it. The large version is 140MB, though I do think it's worth the wait if you're into the Matrix at all. 0 Share this post Link to post
Fredrik Posted February 5, 2003 Hmm I dunno. Matrix mathematics can be fun but I wouldn't say that I'm into it. 0 Share this post Link to post
Chopkinsca Posted February 5, 2003 sadly, I can't have breakfast anymore.. too bad these computers have no sounds cards, and also too bad I can't install the things I need to view the movies. stupid school computers, I swear, it is like they want us to only work or something. :P I can't even play doom on this computer, too many people around.. 0 Share this post Link to post

Waldon Posted February 6, 2003 I got it a few minutes after its release. I'm very impressed, looking forward to the other episodes, especially the one made by Square. 0 Share this post Link to post
Fredrik Posted February 6, 2003 Ah yes, squares are interesting. Geometry in general is very interesting! 0 Share this post Link to post

læmænt Posted February 6, 2003 Matrices are cool. They're the math behind quantum mechanics. 0 Share this post Link to post
Insomniak Posted February 7, 2003 My dad had to relearn matrices for his new job. heh. too bad I suck at math. 0 Share this post Link to post
doomedout Posted February 7, 2003 Nice video man, really thought provoking. Imagine we create AI as sophisticated as that; the ability to reason and the ability to think independently. Almost attributes human qualities to an inanimate object. 0 Share this post Link to post
læmænt Posted February 7, 2003 Nice video man, really thought provoking. Don't you ever say Hello?Imagine we create AI as sophisticated as that; Say, do you have any psychological problems?the ability to reason and the ability to think independently. Do you really think so?Almost attributes human qualities to an inanimate object. I'm not sure I understand you fully. Come, come, elucidate your thoughts. 0 Share this post Link to post
doomedout Posted February 7, 2003 Sorry. With an attitude like that, I rather shit in your mouth. 0 Share this post Link to post
Empyre Posted February 8, 2003 I believe that lament is trying to allude to Eliza, a very old (originally written for mainframes in the 70s!) psychoanalysis emulation program. She was an early example of AI. Either that or he's referring to one of her decendants. As in lament's examples, the response didn't always fit what you said, but people back then would actually have heart to "heart" conversations with her. I have an old dos text-only translation, if anybody is interested. Edit: I just occurred to me that doomedout might also be referring to Eliza, because if you used language like that, she would respond in kind, sounding much like what doomedout said. 0 Share this post Link to post
doomedout Posted February 8, 2003 It is in fact Eliza. Stuff like... I see. You are sure? I'm not sure I understand you fully. and the most famous one... Am I sexy? 0 Share this post Link to post

I hate math. 0 Share this post Link to post
