Hey Magicana, I've been working on it from time to time, it's hard for me to focus on one thing for a long time so it's a slow process. It's different than my other wad for sure and I think this is much better also design wise.  Still learning a lot though.

Just finished the first map and it was a lot of fun. The level was fun to explore and the new enemies are a nice twist on the traditional Doom gameplay. Will definitely be playing more.

Thanks man! Glad you liked it! 

Yeah, I'd like to keep some new enemies as vanilla as possible, nothing too crazy, but I'm happy with the results so far.

Latest map completed, set in a marsh/swamp environment. Also fixed some issues with the other maps.

Feel free to give it a playtest :)

I actually used a golem from Heretic. Basically acts like a Baron in this.

Hey, been messing around with level 1 off and on this afternoon and it’s awesome! Kicks my ass on UV and the custom enemies are wonderful. The golem trap in the yellow key pyramid is ice cold and the monster usage is great. I’d gladly play a Megawad of this 😎👍

Thanks man! Great to hear you enjoyed it! Yeah, that mummy is a nasty one for sure! And about a megawad, I am not sure if I am able to make something that big.

My goal with this is to make roughly 10 maps, but who knows what I'll do after that. I am now working on map 4 and I am really happy with how it turns out probably my best work so far.

No problemo man, I think the No-Clip issue might’ve had to do with the size of his sprites cuz he uses an upscale mod most of the time. When I played vanilla GZDoom I did have some minor clipping issues with my Doomguy in that same spot but I just figured it was to test out the crouching feature lol. Very cool to see tho!!

I finished the 4th map. Slowly but steady making my way to the goal of 10 maps of my egyptian Powerslave/Exhumed inspired wad, this map started out rough, I had a whole idea in my head but in the end I wasn't satisfied so I deleted the whole city section and strated over. I still feel a bit sad about that section but who knows I'll revisit the idea again for another map. But in the end after working on it for so long and playtesting it I think I did a decent job, the map itself is the most challenging of them all, its not a large map but the challenge of working your way to the top of the pyramid makes up for it. 

 

Other things I changed in V4

Fixed some texture issues on the previous maps.

The little tunnel in MAP01 on the yellow skull key pyramid is now fixed. The tunnel was a bit too small to walk inside without jumping in or noclipping. 

Changed some enemy placements in the previous maps, made some 'silent' monsters now aggro.

Increased the mana drop rate when destroying pottery.
