What Games Do Yall Think Deserve The "Brutal" Treatment

Recommended Posts

when i mean brutal treatment i mean something like "brutal doom" but for other games

there's already some examples of such mods like this like brutal half life, brutal quake (which is still in development), Brutal Team Fortress 2 (yes this is real)

i was wondering what you guys thought about giving games the brutal treatment and which games deserve one.

Before anyone use the joke of Brutal Noah Ark 3D.

"Brutal" Quake II it's a strong contender, with their body horror on certain enemies and dismemberments on kill, this would be a easy contender for weapons of plasma and rockets.

Another type of Brutal really don't fit as well, but Unreal sure can have that spot but Half Life 2 it's not looks great on this treatement.

Brutal Bio Menace

No I’m (mostly) not kidding this time, take a platform shooter that’s already full of shit blowing up and spattering to bits and dial it all up to an excessive overindulgent degree in the old brütal tradition, add more weapons and different ways to kill shit and rad animations of Snake Logan murdering aliens in different absurd ways. It’d be awesome. All in 16 color EGA splendor of course

Besides this, I think most of the games that deserve to be brutal already are. Blood would be a good example of this.

Sims. Might make it actually interesting.

Oh wait yeah Brutal SimAnt would be hardcore, bring to life all those weirdly graphic descriptions the game has of the ant starving or drowning or being devoured by spiders or the lawnmower

Worms Armageddon.

I mean, blood is present in Armageddon, just add in a gib system (perhaps they actively take damage instead of having it applied all at once at the end of a turn, a gib happening if their health dips below zero, and into somewhere around -50 to -75), and we've already a good mod going!

Depends.

More gore? Nah don't care.

The brutal up close carnage of melee and finishers? Yes.

Hexen would have the entire insufferable afair dulled if the combat was visceral, nasty, up close strangle fighting that ends in a horrible mess, or alternatively just make it entertaining that would be nice.

Witchaven also, Witchaven really interests me as a game but Jesus that gameplay blows, if that got a combat overhaul in the same vein I would not complain.
