Job Posted February 9, 2003 I've recently bought Unreal II and I've been getting this area: ______________________________________________________ Error setting display mode: CheckDepthStencilMatch failed. (D3D_OK). Please delete your Unreal2.ini file if this error prevents you from starting the game. History: UD3DRenderDevice::UnSetRes <- DetermineFormats <- SetupPresentParms <- UD3DRenderDevice::SetRes <- UWindowsViewport::TryRenderDevice <- UWindowsViewport::OpenWindow <- UGameEngine::Init <- InitEngine Build: Jan 7 2003 18:16:21 ______________________________________________________ Do you know what I can do to take care of this? I don't think there are any driver issues or conflicts. The actual Unreal II forum people weren't of any use, so maybe you guys can help. Thanks. 0 Share this post Link to post
Bloodshedder Posted February 9, 2003 Looks like something to do with your video card and stencil buffers. Try updating your drivers. 0 Share this post Link to post
Job Posted February 9, 2003 My video card drivers are up to date. I'm running a Radeon 9000 pro, the 128 mb ddr version. I don't understand what the problem is. 0 Share this post Link to post
Zaldron Posted February 10, 2003 ...well, have you deleted the file for instance? 0 Share this post Link to post
Job Posted February 10, 2003 Yes I have. It didn't do anything. It does the same thing everytime. 0 Share this post Link to post
Kinsie Posted February 10, 2003 Try asking on the beyondunreal.com Unreal 2 forums. 0 Share this post Link to post
Zaldron Posted February 10, 2003 Check the .ini and see if the game's attempting to init a 24 bit environment. If it is, change that for 32. At the very beginning of the ini check the name of the renderer the game's going to use, prolly something like D3DRenderer, and look for that tab some pages below. The setting I'm talking about should be there. 0 Share this post Link to post
