Looking for short WADs for YouTube projects.

Hello, beautiful people. I’m looking for short WADs to play on my YouTube channel, so I thought I’d do well to turn to the collective wisdom of Doomworld.

 

What’s “short” mean? 
10 maps or less. The smaller the better.

 

How difficult?

I’m not too fussed. Not stupidly hard obviously. 

 

Anything else?

I love WADs with cohesive aesthetics and designs that really stand out. To indicate what’s “up my alley”, think: Pagodia, Crumpets, Starshine. I play the maps as separate episodes and then do a wrap up video at the end.

Welcome to DW, Ed! I've been watching your channel for a while now, so it's awesome to see you here. Since you've covered Pagodia, I'd definitely recommend covering all of Team Squonker's other WADs: Squonker 3, Moonlit District, What Remains and Mayan Reynolds. You're actually quite fortunate as the last two years have been chock full of awesome smaller mapsets to explore. I'll give you a few more:

• The Rapidfire series: 1, 2 and 3.
• Mean Green 2
• Blood Flows Where My Shotgun Blows
• Infection
• Atmospheric Extinction
• Antaresian Reliquary
• Arrival

There's probably a few I'm forgetting, so I'll leave the floor open for others to help out.

You may already have this lined up, but Mayan Reynolds? It much reminds me of Cold Front, I think Eggboy is involved there, too (not sure, though)

Old Still Life technically has 11 maps but the last one is just credits, you decide

Awesome! I’ve played map 1 from Paradise and forgot about it until now, thanks for the reminder. :) I really liked it, it’s the perfect vibe for me. Hmm, maybe I WILL do that next. Cheers, Thelokk. I loved how Tangerine Nightmare looked when Mount Pain 27 covered it (I think). Is that one of the French projects?

What’s your latest release? I’d still love to have a look at it. ;) I’m MORE than happy for people to declare their own work, I’d actually prefer it.

Sounds really cool; the desaturated monochromatic palette really interests me. Even just for my own personal enjoyment I’m gonna check it out. Thanks!

Since no one has mentioned them, Bri has 4 projects out now, but thes are my two favs. His work is around medium difficulty and fast and frantic, usually techbase or medieval gothic style. Well worth checking out.

Hi there! I loved your Fire on The Mountain playthrough - highly entertaining. 

 

A lot of good suggestions have been made already. I second the DPB recommendations - there are a silly amount of them now, but the first one Monuments of Mars is still one of my favourites. 

 

I'm gonna recommend 10AM Break, which was released fairly recently.

Want a truly unique map in gameplay, visuals, and music? Give Northern Powerhouse a spin. Nobody ever talks about it. UV is optimal fun.

 

Ribbiks said it's one of his top 5 favorite maps ever, so that basically certifies it as a banger. Yakfak is a great musician.

You will really really want to play on HMP first.
