If I could have one thing for Doom 3, it'd be either an official take or a really well-made mod in the vanilla Doom 3 style which implements the locations of Site 2, an area which we never get to see at all past the closed-down monorail depot and its accompanying small warehouse/tunnel area. We know there's at least an older-style area similar to Erebus and Site 3 there, as it's stated to have offices, and then down below it are yet more (albeit smaller) caverns with ancient Martian ruins.

 

This seems like a super-compelling area to set a new campaign in that runs alongside the others and expands yet more on the story. The hack which originated from the office in Site 2 might've been Richard Meyers from the Lost Mission - maybe you could play Tony Bates, Mars Sec IT officer, as he goes to check out what that was about, and get to play as a security grunt instead of a marine for a change.

 

Doubt I'll ever see this in my lifetime though.

I've heard through the grapevine that they (id) are happy with the current implementations. If they asked for it we'd probably do it though :P

Maybe not what you want, but I'm working on a mod that takes place directly after the hellhole is sealed by the soul cube. You fight back to the monorail section (walking it of course) and drop down to face off a few killable Cyberdemons and Archviles leading a few zombies to create a gore Nest to create a portal to Hell. It's up to you to take them out and then work back to wherever the original ending cutscenes shows the Marine being picked up. And then possibly you get to fight with a squad to evac. I want to make it so all 3 Marines (original - 64, doom 3 and RoE) are the 2016 Slayer. They simply all, through whatever path they took previously, wake up tied to the table trying to get free.
